Tragedy - Such a classic, not just a great cover but a great song. I was so excited when this came out as it was 'new Steps', a song that wasn't on the original Step One. Also it was the bands 3rd and final Top 10 single in Australia.

After The Love Has Gone - This was a bit of a let down for me after the wonderful Loves Got A Hold On My Heart (more on the later). I've grown to appreciate it now and the Abba-ness of it adds to its appeal. I do wish Faye got some solo time in this song but otherwise it's a solid song.

Loves Got A Hold On My Heart - I loved this when it was first released and while it's dipped slightly over time it's still one of the first Steps songs I'll play. Side not I can remember a class assignment in primary school, we made a class newspaper and I was in charge of the 'Entertainment' page. This song got a 5 star review from me. Haha

Say You'll Be Mine - For me the video elevated this song. I remember watching it for the first time in December 1999 and loving that Lisa got some lines in a song for once!!

I Think It's Love - This would've fared a lot lower in 1999 but I'm all in on Claire now and while I'm glad it wasn't a single it's still a great album track for me.

Make It Easy On Me - I wasn't a big fan of this at the time and I'd still place it in the lower end of my list now. I didn't know it was a Lisa led track at the time, that probably would've changed my opinion on it back then.

Deeper Shade Of Blue - A must admit I didn't like this initially and wasn't sure it was a good single choice back in April 2000. I've done a massive 180 now and it's one of my ultimate favourites. I can't believe it wasn't given a release in Australia. I know the preceding singles were starting to underperform but this could've been a hit for them if given the chance.

Movin' On - Probably my favourite song off the album when I first got it. (If you ignore the fact the Australian version had Just Like The First Time which I liked more). It's fallen a bit in the pecking order of the album but it's still rather enjoyable.

Never Say Never Again - This passed over me completely back in the day and I don't know how, it's the best non single on the album for me. Though as much as I'd have loved it to be a single I'm not sure what it would've replaced.

When I Said Goodbye - As far as Steps ballads go I use to really enjoy this, even though I like it less now it's still pleasent enough to listen to when it comes on shuffle.

I Surrender - My second favourite non-single from the album, this track is just sublime to me. Such a great sing-a-long chorus too.

Since You Took Your Love Away - This would have to be my favourite ballad from the album (or is it mid-tempo? I can never tell). I would've preferred this over When I Said Goodbye as a single.

My Best Friends Girl - I remember this as the B-side for After The Love Has Gone and I loved it at the time. Better than both H tracks on Step One for me.

You're Everything That Matter To Me - Another one I wasn't huge on 20+ years ago but as I've got older I've really started to enjoy this one.

So on the whole I'm not sure if this is still my favourite Steps album, I don't think it is anymore. I may need to revise my list.

Still enjoyable and on par with Step One I think.

Thank you everyone for keeping your comments coming…

How about Light Up The World next as Christmas is coming!!

5. I think it’s love

Didn’t enjoy this back in the days. Way too cheesy and not in a good way. Listening back to it I still think it’s bad for my tooth enamel. Not hating on it though so a 5/10.

6. Make it easy on me

A nice album track. Lisa voice isn’t the best but enjoyable on this track. The way she sings ‘Paradise’ is a bit weird though. Overall a 6/10 for this one.

7. Deeper shade of blue

Yes! This track gave them more of a Steps sound! The previous singles were heavily Abba inspired and this one was ‘edgier’ then anything they released this far. Here in the Netherlands they took the p.. out of the video but I loved it! And I still do. A true Steps classic so a full 10/10!

I used to pause/rewind that part of the music video whenever I watched the Gold VHS
