Ed/Elton still holding up quite well but interested to see what happens to it tomorrow - will it recover like other current hits or drop off like the older Christmas songs? Depends on how much its streams are already just coming from being on Christmas playlists I guess.

 

Seems like it was a bit of both as it has risen a few places but also fallen back behind several non-Christmas songs (abcdefu / Shivers / Overseas / Coming For You).

 

Chris Rea has risen 4 places to #8 which matches his previous Spotify peak. Shakin' Stevens has also managed to climb a place to another new peak of #4 despite the usual post-weekend Xmas collapse as he overtakes Brenda and Bublé. Ariana up 1 as well, hope it'll still be possible for her to finally go top 10 this year but still not holding my breath (she's only the 10th highest old Christmas song in the midweeks right now, 12th highest including Ed and George, so she will need to move up the rankings a bit more).

As with 'Ferrari Horses' blowing up as an album track / post-album single, looks like another one we can blame TikTok for. ('Make You Smile' started out as only the 13th highest track from the DBE mixtape!)

If a song really takes off in Tiktok, it will be doing well on streaming next summer

Tom Odell-Another Love was a tiktok thing last March and has been charting all year and it is still top 200 on Apple today despite the Xmas invasion

Couldn’t agree more, I just don’t understand how people can like them, it’s the fact how madly auto tuned it sounds in every single song not to mention the fact they can’t rap on top of that.
