December 10, 20214 yr Author Another pitiful week for new additions but I guess that's what you get at this time of year. I still think they should have lived a little and stuck 'Merry Christmas' on the A-list for 3 weeks. 'Tell Me Something Good' has now spent two weeks longer on the playlist than 'Bad Habits' did!

December 10, 20214 yr Author I wondered that too, so I looked it up. 'Drive' was added 105 days after release, but there are quite a few examples of even later adds e.g. 'Kings And Queens' (113 days), Jake Bugg 'All I Need' (115 days), Tiesto 'The Business' (119 days). The longest gap I can find between release and playlisting is 'FaceTime Me' by Lotto Boyzz (anyone remember them?) - released on 13th Oct 2017 and added to the playlist on 23rd Feb 2018, which is a gap of 133 days! As mentioned a few weeks ago, 133 days was the record for the longest gap between release and R1 playlisting - this week 'Where Are You Now' equals that record, having been released back on June 30th!

'Chaise Longue' was an Introducing playlist song back in July as well. Yay for the moves up for Wolf Alice and Amaarae et al. (the latter has been a big earworm for me the past few days).

I can't recall how they've treated them in the past. I wonder if they have a blanket policy to just spot play Christmas and leave Radio 2 to playlist them.
