Who is Susan and why can she regenerate?! That is only for the Doctor and River Song!!

He may be referring to the Susan who was the first Doctor's granddaughter. You have omitted Romana, a Time Lord companion who regenerated in the late 1970s.

For the record I think 14 will be female (still want Aisling Bea but would love Helena Bonham-Carter or Tilda Swinton) and the Timeless Child will be ignored for as long as possible.

And yes the show has always been very progressive since the beginning (relative to its time) it's just that Chibnall's era has lacked any understanding of subtext or nuance that it does feel like someone's shouting the message at you for 45 minutes. Which is grating whether you agree or not

Yes I was referring to the Doctor's grandaughter as Suedehead recognised.

I've always thought it has been a missed opportunity not to give her a cameo, after all The Doctor did say he would return one day, when better than now. If they've never offered it to Carole that's quietly outrageous. I'm aware she did return for The Five Doctors but her timeline for that was when she was still with The Doctor

I'd just find it insane that nobody in 59 years has ever thought of the Susan follow up story after she was left - revisiting old companions can be a bit weird but there's so much opportunity with her, I'd like to see her as a powerful woman in government of some sort or a scientific prodigy finally having got the recognition she craved from 'grandfather' leaving The Doctor tinged with a bit of sadness at seeing her, but some pride.

Unfortunately I reckon RTD might be more likely to try and not mention the past sadly.

Maybe she changed her name to Harriet Jones

Would have needed to have made her own tardis.

Missed that rumour amongst all the reports of bookies slashing the odds on Danny Dyer for 14.

I doubt thart would happen but weirdly, I think he could actually pull it off

I think its him, if it is, I turn off, he has left Eastenders, there was another rumour a former Eastender cast the actress that played Shabnam Masood to replace Jodie, which would be a better fit.

I’m not sure Danny Dyer could pull it off. His ‘range’ in Eastenders is pretty limited.

I think it should be a woman again anyway and Rakhee Thakrar would be a shout.

Danny Dyer is as likely as Kris Marshall. We’re in that period where someone leaves a high profile job and so immediately get attached to the Doctor job.
Could she regenerate INTO River Song, or will River only be back for the 60th?? Why can't shw transfer herself out via ganger?

Making River the Doctor would raise some pretty awkward rewatches

No, she could just use the aspect, like Capaldi turned into that Roman man, but wasn't that Roman man

Danny Dyer lmao, where the hell did that come from :')

I still think it will likely be an actor with a connection or has done work with Russel T Davies himself given Chris Eccleston and David Tennant both had roles in his other work before they were the Doctor (likewise Jodie for Chibnall).

It has now been confirmed that Phil Collinson, producer for the show between 2005-08, will be returning to produce the new series!

(People found out by finding his CV online )

Oh gosh, the gangs back together! If there’s anyone I have trust in to keep things fresh though, it’s RTD!
