Posted December 20, 20213 yr Please keep it clean- What is your view on refereeing in the Premier League?
December 20, 20213 yr I don't think it's gotten any better or worse in the years I've followed it tbh. Referees are just more heavily and openly scrutinised now thanks to social media and even more recently, not being able to hide thanks to VAR.
December 20, 20213 yr My opinion has always been, everyone’s a wannabe referee & the people who actually do the job will always piss people off. I like to think I watch it subjectively and make up my mind based on the action and not whether the team I support benefit/lose out from a decision. I find I agree with most decisions and no-one is perfect so mistakes are made

I find I agree with most decisions and no-one is perfect so mistakes are made The current crop are dreadful though. Referring in Europe is much better, it’s the standard here in England that’s the problem. Mike Riley is the main issue. They got lots of things right but they also get a hell of a lot wrong. There’s been some horrible decisions this season and unconscious bias is a massive problem for referees. I always find it hilarious how the referees always support some random non-league club too.
December 20, 20213 yr The Standard of refereeing has been woeful for years in the Prem. No sign it’ll change anytime soon either
