Posted December 27, 20213 yr Back early by request :magic: Here to discuss all the transfers, rumours and everything else going on during the January transfer window!
December 27, 20213 yr Oh yay thanks Pete! Expecting some big signings this window, I expect Newcastle will be the busiest, and I can see Arsenal, Spurs and Manchester United all spending to try and get that fourth position finish. For United, I can see Martial leaving, possibly Lingard too, and hopefully another long-term forward to come in too as I’m sure Cavani will be gone by Summer. Kane won’t be going anywhere surely. Any other deals that are likely to happen this window?
December 27, 20213 yr Author I can definitely see Newcastle spending big this time round - the combination of them being in a relegation fight and the takeover probably meaning they have a bit more money at their disposal should make them quite active.
December 27, 20213 yr Newcastle spending probably £100m I would think. Thanks for starting this thread, Pete :) Martial to Juventus possibly? Aubameyang to leave Arsenal most likely.
December 29, 20213 yr Author In the news today, Mbappe has said he won't leave PSG during the January transfer window. An interesting choice given his contract runs out at the end of the season, PSG might have had hopes of getting some money out of him!
December 29, 20213 yr Newcastle will spend loads you would imagine, but they will be overpaying for everyone they get. Not sure I can see too many movements either way apart from that. Looks like Chelsea will get a left back, but I can't see too many of the other teams doing much. You'd imagine Spurs will probably want to spend under Conte, but not sure where all their money is coming from either.
December 29, 20213 yr Author Yup 50m! Where did they get that from?? Every year it amazes me afresh how much money teams are able to throw around! Imagine how else that money could be used... Barcelona have put a €1 billion buyout clause on Torres as well
December 30, 20213 yr Every year it amazes me afresh how much money teams are able to throw around! Imagine how else that money could be used... Especially when Barca are supposed to be broke lol.
December 30, 20213 yr It’s a joke, the financial authority just like in real life has no teeth to do a thing!
December 30, 20213 yr Talks are continuing between Arsenal and Roma over the transfer of midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles. Deal under discussion is for a loan until the end of the season with an option to buy – with discussions centred around the option price.
December 30, 20213 yr I forget Maitland-Niles is actually a midfielder as he's only ever used as a makeshift right back for Arsenal.
December 31, 20213 yr Author It'd probably make sense for Maitland-Niles to move away now if he doesn't feel he's getting the minutes he wants - provided of course the team he moves to are able to give him that!
January 1, 20223 yr Everton have signed defender Vitaliy Mykolenko from Dynamo Kiev on a four-and-a-half-year contract. The left-back has won 21 caps for Ukraine and was a key part of the side which reached the quarter-finals of Euro 2020 earlier this year. The fee for the 22-year-old is undisclosed, but is understood to be up to £17m, including add-ons.
