Years & Years releasing a NYE edition on Jan 21st is a bit late!

But the NYE edition is actually a greatest hits added to the original album to generate some fake streams, thats the lowest you can go and reeks of total and utter desperation

not even Mabel would do that lol

Hopefully the surge for Meat Loaf’s music will scupper his plans and fake streams.

(Meat Loaf makes up the rest of the top 10)

12. AURORA - The Gods We Can Touch

14. Teddy Swims - Tough Love - EP

15. Various Artists - NOW That's What I Call Punk & New Wave

80. Todrick Hall - FEMULINE Gaymeova

81. Aoife O'Donovan - Age of Apathy

82. Years & Years - Night Call (Deluxe)

Top 8 is now Meat Loaf and Years & Years

 1 Meat Loaf - Bat Out Of Hell

 2 Meat Loaf - Bat Out Of Hell ll

 3 Meat Loaf - Hits Out Of Hell

 4 Years & Years - Night Call

 5 Meat Loaf - Bat Out Of Hell ll

 6 Meat Loaf - Piece Of The Action

 7 Years & Years - Night Call

 8 Meat Loaf - Heaven & Hell

It'd really be great if Years & Years get denied a #1 by Meat Loaf following the extremely cynical move of tagging older hits onto the album to beef up streaming numbers. I don't think Meat Loaf will actually be a #1 contender but as per my post in the Spotify thread just now a new peak should be pretty easily achievable.

An early look at some new entries. Nothing massive out this week, so it could well be Ed Sheeran back at #1. Though Don Broco have the physicals out for their album ‘Amazings Things’. I wouldn’t rule them out of topping the charts with a good ol’ fanbase push.

5. G.S.Nawepindiya

7. Jamie Webster

9. SAINT PHNX - EP

15. HRVY - EP

22. Morgan Wade

23. Eels

Ooh could be close then! Anyone know how many physicals After Hours sold in its first week?

Already home to one of the biggest hit singles of the year so far, The Weeknd’s fourth full studio album After Hours was always going to be the biggest of the week. The album opens with a chart sale of 25,677 copies, of which 19,959 were accounted for by calculated streams, the second-highest sale so far this year for a No.1 album.

Cheers! Don Broco’s last album sold 10.7k in 2018, most of which I’d assume were physicals. So they should definitely be in with a decent shot!

I think The Weeknd will walk it, has lots of formats, alternative covers, and lots of signed stuff too

Sure Don Broco will push for it... they got some variants but some are very limited (250/300 copies) and are still available, which suggests them not having a crazy high fanbase...

I think it depends which ones you’re looking at, the signed Banquet version sold out, they say there’s only 30 copies left of the red vinyl on Instagram, the standard vinyl has sold out entirely.

The standard vinyl I see it available everywhere

So the red vinyl only sold 200 copies after all this time on pre-orders? thats very little... any artists that I know that releases a limited variant sells outs in 5 nanoseconds...

They said on their Instagram that the standard had sold out, I can’t see it on their own store so I assume that’s what they meant.

And the Red vinyl was limited to 500. They have a big fanbase, sold out arenas etc, doesn’t mean everyone will buy multiple copies though. I suppose we’ll see how they’re doing on Monday!

Im sure Don Broco will be up there fighting for #1 and sure will do well

but cos the label will push it like crazy with price drops, concerts and whatnot

but having all those limited vinyls out for months and not being sold out is surprising to me, especially with so few being released

And don’t rule out Jamie webstar should be top 5

Not sure five out today as 2 five band original five or new five

Jamie’s last one sold 6.4K in 2020, and I think he’s a bigger name now so should certainly be solid for at least top 5!

And the members in Five currently are Ritchie Neville, Scott Robinson and Sean Conlon.

I thought for a moment there that Jamie Webster was the person who sang 'Wasn't Expecting That' and was wondering how he would possibly be a bigger name now than in 2020

(Jamie Lawson, incidentally, apparently released an album in 2019 that missed the top 100 entirely, only 4 years after his #1 album and 2 years after its followup which had a 23-x chart run. Was still on the same label and all. Oof)
