January 16, 20223 yr Author Unfortunately won't be around for the full session this week as I'm busy this evening but can hopefully stay until 5:30 or so! Not a problem, be glad to have you around for some of it, you have just reminded me to put the playlist in the above post!! :P
January 16, 20223 yr Author As always a big thanks to those who joined this afternoon. Pat yourselves on the backs, the reward for sitting through the first 6 hours and 138 songs so far is that we've pretty much finished the pre-rock and roll era now, and the pop boom of the mid-late 60s mean there's a hell of a lot more timeless classics on next weeks list. There's also only 2 double A-Sides - which his helpful for me - I've added them to the - which can be found here for anyone who can't make next week or will miss part of it. Basically we moving on from most of your grandparents music to most of your parents music - I'm guessing  Again thanks to everyone who joined, and especially Danuary for providing the chart runs for the songs throughout. January 29, 20223 yr Author Thanks again for today Chartfridays - btw following on from The Supremes I was just having a look at it appears Respectable by Mel & Kim is the first #1 by a British girl group - that can’t be right? Appears to be so. Been a bit of a hectic week on my end so haven't got round to typing up the list - please be aware these timings aren't exact so we might get through a few more / less - I'm going to carry on the last weeks thing of ending as close to 7 as possible and rolling over any leftover tracks to the next session as it seemed better than going on much longer. The playlist for the session is here - with Beatles - Day Tripper / We Can Work It Out to play at the beginning to add to the beginning. Edited January 29, 20223 yr by Chartfridays

January 29, 20223 yr Eleanor Rigby seems to be missing from that playlist, assuming we're still playing both double a-sides? (that's the song I'm most looking forward to x) Looking forward to it!

January 30, 20223 yr first time listening and really enjoyed it, thanks for hosting and also learned a lot of stuff ie that Steve Winwood was already charting in the 60s!
February 3, 20223 yr Author Ok so I've had a computer failure, I've got an old laptop lying about so will still be able to host the session on Sunday unless anything else happens. However i have lost the notepad document that had the carry-overs on - I vaguely remember it being Those Were The Days and With A Little Help From My Friends as the last ones but just wanna double check as I we didn't get through all of the list upthread so can't use that?
February 3, 20223 yr Yep that's right we definitely ended the session on 'With A Little Help From My Friends' ^_^ I distinctly remember us finishing with a Beatles-related trio (Hey Jude, Mary's song is produced by Paul and released on the Apple label, Beatles cover!) Sorry to hear about the computer failure D:
