Posted January 9, 20223 yr Over the past few months, you have been ranking the albums tracks in each Madonna album. Using your ranks we now have our first round results! Here is how the scoring system works: - The #1 song in each ranking has been given 5 points - The fifth song in each ranking has been given 1 point - All songs below the fifth song are not awarded points - Points have been totalled up and from each album the THREE songs with most points will be through to the next round! I will present each album's results individually, so please comment along the way and share your thoughts!
January 9, 20223 yr Exciting! Do you mind if I add my ranking to the later ones that I haven't done yet?
January 9, 20223 yr Author Yeah! The ones that I have counted up, I have closed the threads for. SO if the threads are open please add in your votes!
January 9, 20223 yr Author First up, here are the results for Madonna's debut album Madonna. This is a slight anomoly, because there were only 3 albums tracks to choose from so... they are ALL through  Top song here received 3 points and then down to 1 for 3rd place - again different to all other albums due to the number of tracks you were deciding between. But more interestingly, here are how the songs performed in round 1: 1. Physical Attraction ~ 29 2. I Know It ~ 24 3. Think Of Me ~ 19 Well done to all three songs for making it! :cheer: Do you agree with the order they have appeared in, in this first round?
January 9, 20223 yr For some odd reason, I don't think I rated these... but it looks about right. Physical Attraction is a bit too long though.
January 10, 20223 yr Author I'd swap I Know It and Physical Attraction but there's not much in it between them so I'm happy with the overall rankings!
January 10, 20223 yr Physical Attraction is my favourite, in fact my favourite pre-Like a Prayer album track, so I’m happy to see it place first.
January 10, 20223 yr I Know It bring through was the only thing of interest to me there, sadly it wasn’t first but it’s through so happy days
January 11, 20223 yr Author Next up, here are the results for Madonna's second album Like A Virgin. Out of the 5 album tracks, the top 3 have made it through! Interestingly this time, we had a runaway winner and then a joint second place! Here are how the songs performed in round 1: 1. Over and Over ~ 59 2. Love Don't Live Here Anymore ~ 45 2. Stay ~ 45 4. Pretender 32 5. Shoo-Bee-Doo 29 Well done to the three songs for making it! :cheer: Do you agree with the order they have appeared in, and the songs that have qualified for the next round?
January 11, 20223 yr Author It's the correct top 3 (and correct last place ). I'm happy with the three qualifying - eek at the closeness between the 2nd and 3rd songs!
January 11, 20223 yr Author It's actually aligned perfectly with my ranking so I'm very happy with how it's played out here.
January 12, 20223 yr Top 3 as I voted (though 4 and 5 are the other way round). So yeah... happy with this result. Rightly showing Over and Over as the easy winner there.
January 12, 20223 yr I find 'Over and Over' pretty overrated tbh, would have preferred 'Love Don't Live Here Anymore' to be top album track but at least it's safely through.
January 12, 20223 yr Author Next up, here are the results for Madonna's third album True Blue. Out of the 4 album tracks, the top 3 have made it through meanong one unluck song will miss out! We have a winner by some considerable distance! Here are how the songs performed in round 1: 1. Where's the Party ~ 60 2. White Heat ~ 36 3. Love Makes the World Go Round ~ 31 4. Jimmy Jimmy ~ 23 Well done to the three songs for making it! :cheer: Do you agree with the order they have appeared in, and the songs that have qualified for the next round?
January 12, 20223 yr Author That lead for Where's The Party! :cheeseblock: Totally deserved of course. I would have loved Love Makes the World Go Round to come 2nd as it's 2nd for me by a big distance but can't argue as it's through.
January 12, 20223 yr Same order as me! No surprise to see 'Where's the Party' as the runaway lead, the main hook in particular is so catchy but the whole thing never misses a beat of joy.
