And now me too! I've just voted, Semi 1 was a nightmare to cut down, I loved 12 songs, really liked at least 10 others and liked the rest so it was hard to leave so many great songs out. A really diverse semi with lots of good rock, pop, dance, electronic and retro stuff to pick from.

 

Semi 2 I didn't feel was as strong overall, the highs were probably about as high and there is some fantastic stuff in there which I hope makes the final, but the depth wasn't there as much for me, there are probably about 10 songs in there I wasn't mad on.

SF1 is one hell of a weird semi

Votes sent in nice and early thanks to the listening session tonight! Semi 1 was right up my street so I'm happy to be a part of it but also a bit concerned for my chances, as there were a lot of standout moments later on in the running. Some seriously nuts twists and turns in places :lol:

My weave has been spotted several dimensions away after the drop in that Aeroche entry

 

Big hype for FARC, Jadakissnia, Pestolia and Trifoski as well :heart: (and D'yermak'er too since I didn't yet post my usual hype for the songs I knew already x)

 

There were at least 16 points worthy songs in that semi for me so a great start to the year - hopefully the semi I can actually vote in will be of at least vaguely similar quality x

Me and WoW73 were discussing the dates of the rest of the contest. We had initially planned for both semi & final results to take place on Saturdays 22. Jan and 29. Jan, but as things got dragged back a bit it's not really going according to plan. I planned to host the results for the semis now on Sunday but as this leaves one less day for voting I'm thinking if maybe I should push it back to Monday evening? Meaning that voting closes sunday evening instead of saturday. In turn this would also push back the Final results though and as Wouter can't host on Sunday or Monday it would have to be on Tuesday 1. February or Saturday 29. January.

 

So my proposed schedule is:

 

Semi Voting Closes: Sunday 23. January at 23:59 GMT (instead of Saturday 22. January)

Semi Results: Monday 24. January at 19:00 GMT (instead of Sunday 23. January)

Final Voting Starts: Monday 24. January after SF Results

Final Voting Closes: Monday 31. January at 23:59 GMT (instead of Friday 28. January)

Final Results: Tuesday 1. February at an as-of-yet undecided time (instead of Saturday 29. January)

 

What do you all think? I know this means we're pushing it into BJSC 142 territory but I'm hoping it doesn't derail things too much in the long run.

speaking from a non-mod view, I don't think that should be a problem.

 

Considering how much effort goes into hosting, I think we all understand how important it is to be able to do this job without stressing much :wub:

I would just go with whatever dates suit you tbh, everyone who last minute votes will still last minute vote regardless of the day (I can say that this month as an early voter :kink: )
