not really any notable Britain songs but a couple for England, mostly football related but also Kirsty MacColl "A New England" which is perhaps her best known song besides her feature on FONY

There are a few songs with Britain in the title, the two best known ones are 'Little Britain' by Dreadzone and 'Good Morning Britain' by Aztec Camera (both are pretty good songs actually). There's absolutely loads with England in the title, the few which aren't football related are 'A New England' as Dan mentioned above, also 'Made In England' by Elton John and 'This Is England' by The Clash. EDIT: I'm currently listening to a random playlist of songs from 1995 and 'Made In England' has just started playing. How freaky is that?

Though if we extend the criteria to include any charting song which contains a country in its title, there would be literally hundreds so it's not even worth doing.

Africa almost as famous a country as London x

Face meet palm!! :w00t:

To be honest... I'm rubbish at Geography. Working from Home stops me from getting lost when driving from work every night!!

Oh... and I voted instead for Razorlight, Sash! and Kim Wilde.

So this is as complete a list as I have the inclination to put together. A few borderline cases (e.g. Burma is the former name of Myanmar), but if I added all the caveats, it would be as long as the list. I've added the Americas at the end, you can ignore them if you wish:

Argentina - Jeremy Healy & Amos (#30, 1997)

Australia - Manic Street Preachers (#7, 1996)

Australia - Shins (#62, 2007)

is The Levellers - Belaruse about the country Belarus?

Never could figure it out, always thought it was about a "ruse", you know like a cover up, cos the song is about Chernobyl I think,

which is not in Belarus (but close by)

Cambodia!!!! It was an absolute banger in it's day

It hasn't stopped being a banger tbh

Beach House have a song called “Norway”. I charted it in 2010 but it failed to chart in the official chart sadly, the album from where it was lifted did chart at #78 however.

Well it looks like 'Ecuador' is the clear winner of this poll but I'm impressed that the wonderful 'America' isn't far behind :D
