I understand your point of views.

But I’m here for the content. And the story she tells is interesting.

Her childhood memories and stories are amazing. As I’m not from where she came from, I find that world totally different from mine. It’s also nice to hear someone bring so proud of their working class background - in a world where people pretend to be who they are not.

It’s a different approach to autobiographies. Not the common one. And it works perfectly, especially with the audiobook.

The childhood stuff is defo the least interesting, it can basically be summed up as 'I was a determined child who wasn't well off'.

Wow I cannot believe you see it that way. How many children, and especially in the 70's, were a child of divorce? Plus then had their father sell their childhood home and vanish for a year to travel the world, then after that decide to live abroad. Meanwhile mother was touring and leaving her with an unsuitable child minder resulting in her being left outside in the freezing cold and weeing herself as she could not go to the toilet, essentially child neglect.

It sounds like she had the toughest upbringing out of the 5 of them and you can see how early trauma plays a part in her future issues.

I listened to this yesterday. For the most part I enjoyed it because Melanie always gives really articulate answers, I could listen to her speak for hours honestly. However I do feel that this podcast maybe dwelled just a bit too much on “the bad bits”, like the line of questioning kind of pushed and pushed for her to get emotional.

I know this autobiography goes into her mental health issues and in turn that invites interviewers to ask her more about it, but I’m a little worried about it taking its toll? It must be draining. She ends up crying in this interview, and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that at all, it’s more than understandable, but it seems like going over her past traumas isn’t so healthy. I hope it doesn’t get too much for her. I think sharing her story in her book is one thing, but having to go over and over it in interviews - and these interviewers are not therapists… I don’t know… it made me a little uncomfortable. Maybe it’s my overreaction. I just hope it’s not too distressing for her.

Ive started to stay away from interviews this week as some of them really get dark and whilst I appreciate her being so open and thorough, it really doesnt sit well with me that the press is once again pushing this to go so dark in every single interview. For a fan it has been incredibly triggering and exhausting, and I bet it takes a toll on her so I hope she is ok because this doesn't really sit well with me at all...

The book itself is a revelation in many ways so I will focus on that. Im glad she gave us a bit of insights into the Spice story we didn't know, and a lot of that revolves around her own trauma and I will focus on the book itself.

This is what pisses me off about mostly the UK press, they basically push you as far as they go so they can get clicks and drama. It's revolting. Like, the information is in the book, it doesnt need to be revived so horribly cruelly on TV for your listeners to cry and your ratings to go up... urgh...

Bless her

So many great interviews. I watched the radio interview with Angellica Bell as well as the Project one. Will watch the podcast one later too

I was thinking how much I loved her look. This mature sexy sporty with the suits and sporty clothing mixed with heels really suits her.

Robbie & Mel? Are they going to kill each other? OMG I haven’t read anything yet about him in the book, I would have loved a bi of shade.

Well... Robbie commented about Melanie in his interview:
