I would love the SHM and Sting song to be a hit, its very good and not generic.

 

Thats a bit harsh about spotify. I would like them to add Diplo/Miguel and Sigala to Hot Hits UK though.

It's all down to playlists I expect. If Sigala isn't on HH it's pretty impossible for it to get anywhere on Spotify.

 

I don't think it's out of the question they may add it soon though.

happens every now and then a song doing very well on Apple (even top 10) but nothing on Spotify,

then it charts low overall, meaning Apple doesn't have much of the market share

it often happens with dance songs

I really wish Apple did have a greater share, not because of Sigala but because their chart generally is so much fresher and more exciting. Also I feel like more stuff gets a greater chance to succeed on there.

 

Ultimately I'm just so glad the chart isn't practically 100% dictated by Hot Hits UK like it was before.

Not sure, I think it's dictated 50% by Hot Hits 50% by Alexa, not sure which is worst
I don't think Alexa has anywhere near that big an effect outside of the Christmas months when they have their exclusives to plug when people say "Alexa play Christmas music".

I think Alexa/Amazon is the main responsible for how well Bruno is doing, it's #1 & 2 in there

and I reckon it's thanks to Alexa thats getting those overall figures close to 60K

You're forgetting video streaming where it is comfortably outdoing everything. Amazon obviously helps but I don't think it's as significant as you say.
