February 18, 20223 yr I like it. The synths in the verses sound a bit like it samples a 00s trance track I was listening to recently - 4 Strings - Take Me Away! It probably doesn't but good anyway! Edited February 18, 20223 yr by Ring Kollo
February 19, 20223 yr This is okay... catchy... but just a bit generic again. Its fine as a "song that won't be remembered 10 minutes after it's played" kind of way. But what happened to Clean Bandit?
February 21, 20223 yr will be their first song of not debuting top 100 You could be right, no sign of it in the chart update
February 21, 20223 yr Being demoted to "promo/buzz single" as we speak probably. I thought you were going to comment on my 4 Strings - Take Me Away comparison further up the page! Anyway, hopefully it wont be a buzz single but a full single, as for all its flaws with the pitched vocal overuse, I think its a good track.
February 21, 20223 yr Author The song hasn't even been out three days yet. I doubt they've given up on it already, although not debuting top 100 isn't ideal. They should have got a bigger name on this such as Becky Hill or even Tom Grennan who they wrote the song with. I've got two minds about this song. I like it but can see why people think it's generic and that their music style definitely seems stuck in 2017/18. But then on the other hand compared to some other dance tracks that do well nowadays, it doesn't seem that far off. Like is it that much more generic than the new Jax/MNEK track?

February 21, 20223 yr ever since they left black butter for warner they’ve went so far downhill, this hasn’t entered top 200 on Spotify and it’s #200 on Apple Music, i think considering how important this single is they should have went better, radio just supported drive very late which rather than the normal instant playlisting!
February 22, 20223 yr Radio 2 have instantly added this which is surprising really but they need more commercial support to get it off the ground. If they don't even chart this week I doubt they'll recover from it. I know it's Week 1 but they've been a driving chart force since 2013 so it's a disappointing blow when a track doesn't do well in the early weeks. It doesn't feel like the sort of song that would be a slow burner either. Not even a look in on Massive Dance Hits on Spotify whereas Regard x Years & Years went straight in there
February 22, 20223 yr Author This has appeared at the bottom end of the Apple Music charts at #190. Seeing as dance tracks do better on Apple Music, seeing if this rises over the next couple of days might be an indication of how it's gonna perform overall.
February 26, 20223 yr Clean Bandit today have recorded a new song with James Arthur, Topic & A7S. A clip from the recording is on their Insta.

February 26, 20223 yr Author I really don't see this or any future song by them being a hit. Without support from Radio1, Capital and the big Spotify and Apple playlists there's no chance. I can't begin to imagine how tragic the album will perform when released.
February 26, 20223 yr As I said, I think the verses and buildup are really good in this song, its just the repetitive vocal drop which isn't :(
February 26, 20223 yr Author They need to work with some better songwriters and producers. Get back with Steve Mac and Ina Wroldson who helped write Rockabye and Symphony or Kamille who wrote Solo and Tick Tock with them. And stay away from Topic. Also maybe stay away from the male vocalists. All of their top 10's are female led. Someone like Becky Hill on this track would have made it so much more dynamic.
February 26, 20223 yr Since they moved to warner they’ve really went downhill. I don’t think the releases are up to them, i remember them asking fans to request symphony sort of sound so their label can see this has grown on me a lot tho
February 27, 20223 yr I wonder if Tom Grennan was the original singer in this? He's one of the co-writers
