Posted February 9, 20223 yr We will be looking at each Gaga era over the next few weeks and letting YOU become a Little Manager! In this thread, discuss how you would've managed the era. Which singles would you have released, what songs would've received music videos, any promo opportunities you could utilise? Think as widely or as briefly as you wish! What would be your ideal singles run for this era? Here is how Gaga's team did it: 1st single: Born This Way 2nd single: Judas 3rd single: The Edge of Glory 4th single: You and I 5th single: Marry the Night Promo singles: Hair Would you have done anything differently? The Fame era The Fame Monster era
February 9, 20223 yr Author This is my favourite era of Gaga's so I am very excited to see how people would've rather it went. The EXCITEMENT this era and its promotion gave us... :w00t:
February 9, 20223 yr What an era *.* The main thing I would have done differently was those stupid Friday releases in the UK  I was also disappointed with The Edge of Glory music video and its long delay As much as I adore Judas, I think it wasn't a great single choice. 1. Born This Way 2. The Edge of Glory 3. ScheiBe 4. You and I (US) / Marry the Night (UK) Promo single: Judas I don't think any 5th single would have gone top 10 tbh and probably would have broken her top 10 streak in the US regardless, but if we had to choose one Heavy Metal Lover
February 9, 20223 yr Author I agree about Judas (and the Friday releases ughhhh)! Imagine Heavy Metal Lover as 5th single :cheeseblock: but make it 6th cus Marry The Night had to be a global single. I love your picks Kath
February 9, 20223 yr Author 1. Born This Way 2. Marry the Night 3. The Edge of Glory 4. You and I (it was undeniably one of the most popular songs at the time mainly because she performed it so many times) 5. ScheiBe ~ go out with a big risk.. if radio didn't touch it, it would've been fine because the final single anyway after a huge mammoth 4 singles! Promo single: Hair, Judas I would've had a SUNDAY release for Born This Way to get it the #1 and the same with Marry the Night and The Edge of Glory. Maybe I am blind with MTN but for me it is her second best single and a true ANTHEM. Heavy Metal Lover would be next in contention either as a promo single or a full 6th single.
February 9, 20223 yr Interesting to see that "promo single" suggestions for Judas considering it was one of the favourite second singles in the "Best/Worst poll"
February 9, 20223 yr Author It's a huge fan favourite to many, I get that - but with the general public/radios.. nah x BUT then it means we wouldn't have got the music video which is one of her very best so that's a toughie :drama:

That got a music video but then again it was a single in Canada :P "Judas" is very much a cult classic but like Bal said it only got radio airplay based on name recognition alone, as soon as that initial rocket ended it brickwalled so quickly. It's sad that it got so much controversy considering the message is very much a Christian one (love one another) She could have probably gotten away with a dual WW/Canada release with Canada getting Judas as a single since that's the country that touched her music first, then release TEOG worldwide around late May/early June. It probably still would have peaked at the same place considering the juggernauts that were around over the summer (Give Me Everything, Party Rock Anthem, Adele/Katy in general) but it wouldn't have hurt the campaign as much. Then a radio edit for "Hair" to be a single after "You And I" - Scheiße/Heavy Metal Lover fall more into the "cult classic" category and idk if radio would have touched them. This is my favorite Gaga album so it was hard to move things around considering I have so many fond memories of this era but yeah
February 9, 20223 yr Author This is my favorite Gaga album so it was hard to move things around considering I have so many fond memories of this era but yeah This is what I'm struggling with too! her best album so it's hard to play "what-ifs"!
February 10, 20223 yr 1st Single: Born This Way 2nd Single: Marry the Night 3rd Single: The Edge of Glory 4th Single(s): Judas [uK & Europe] // You and I [uSA Single] 5th Single: ScheiBe 6th Single: Heavy Metal Lover Promo Hair ScheiBe (before being pushed as an actual single) Government Hooker The Queen {Simply to push the re-release special edition) Edited February 10, 20223 yr by Nina West
February 10, 20223 yr 1. Born This Way (1st week of 2011) Marry the Night (promo 1) Judas (promo 2) 2. The Edge of Glory (April, released along with the album) ———— ALBUM RELEASE (April) ———— 3. Hair (Jun) 4. You and I (Aug) 5. Fashion of His Love (Oct) Lead single of the reissue (Feb 2012) ———— REISSUE (March) ———— Second single of the reissue (May)
February 10, 20223 yr Born This Way (UK Sunday release) Hair (promo) The Edge of Glory (UK Sunday release before the album) ------- ScheiBe (mid-late summer) You And I (US) / Marry The Night (UK) << perhaps a UK push of 'You and I' in Q1 of 2012 to round off the era >> 'Judas' somewhere along the line as a promo single, just so we still get the video but perhaps not as a full single. 'Government Hooker' and 'Heavy Metal Lover' are my two faves but I don't think they're singles. I'm pretty sure with those Sunday releases in the UK she could have got two easy extra UK #1s. I know 'Born This Way' is seen as one of her signature songs now, but following it at time it felt like it had done real damage to her credibility. In a way, I'd be interested to see what the reaction would have been if she lead with 'The Edge of Glory' - but then I suppose what would she have followed that up with? February 10, 20223 yr Fashion of His Love - pretty surprising choice It’s one of the most radio-friendly songs on the album. Both FOHL and Hair would work as the third single.
February 10, 20223 yr Author Fashion of His Love is one of my least favourite on the album but it does seem very radio friendly! And there was no way ANY single would've been picked over Born This Way as the lead. Gaga fought so hard to make a song for her fans and this era was for them so no way would she have ever accepted anything other that it leading the way. And neither would I - like it or loathe it, it's THE song she was destined to do at that point.
February 10, 20223 yr Fashion of His Love is one of my least favourite on the album but it does seem very radio friendly!See here's the caveat with this: FOHL is radio friendly... now. With its 80's inspired production I think it would have fit today's musical climate more than the dance-dominated 2011. I see it as a song that's ahead of its time so idk if it would have been a good choice for a single

It may have seemed "tame" back then especially considering the mammoth songs around it on the album!
