Posted February 14, 20223 yr Following 2020's 'Notes On a Conditional Form' (and the No Rome/Charli XCX collab 'Spinning' last year), The 1975 have been pretty quiet... until now! They've deleted their social media profiles, the same as what preceded their previous eras. So it looks like something new will be out very soon :cheer: https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertai...e-b2014818.html
February 14, 20223 yr I look forward to this - but hoping it's not as bloated as their last album (which is by far their worst).
February 14, 20223 yr Author I think for me their debut is their worst (well, least good anyway) - it all does feel a little repetitive.
February 15, 20223 yr Author They’ve just been announced to headline Japanese festival Summer Sonic with Post Malone... it’s happening! And a new pic of them has been released with them in black & white looking quite moody, suggesting an emo-ish album perhaps? It would make sense with their Drive Like I Do stuff never coming out.
February 15, 20223 yr Author i hope they do a 12 track alubm... i find they make their albums so long. A Brief Inquiry is 14 without the intro track to be fair, 13 if you count 'The Man Who Married a Robot' as an interlude too. But for me, they release so infrequently that I'll take as much as I can get
February 16, 20223 yr If they drop an album before September it'll be their 5th in less than 9 years, I'm not sure I'd call that 'infrequent'! I really didn't care for much of what they put out last era so my anticipation for this is a little muted but hoping they can return to form.

That’s true tbf, I think it’s the complete radio silence they’ve had in between that makes it feel like longer!
February 16, 20223 yr i was gonna say... the wait between the last 2 albums didn't feel that long but i think they released a lot of pre-reelease singles.
February 16, 20223 yr Yeah, I wouldn't exactly say they're infrequent either  September 2013 > February 2016 > November 2018 > May 2020
February 16, 20223 yr Author Yeah, I take my statement back  I think it's just mainly because they've been completely silent on social media since their last album. Anyway! Hopefully there's something out soon. @1493513887429316613
April 30, 20223 yr Author They're currently filming a music video on Shellness Beach in Kent! I'm expecting it to release on June 1st (which is 'The 1975 Day', and they've released quite a few things on that day over the years). https://readdork.com/news/1975-video-sheerness-kent/
May 9, 20223 yr Yeah, I wouldn't exactly say they're infrequent either  September 2013 > February 2016 > November 2018 > May 2020 they also release so often... like the gap between singles and albums are so long... like 'people' came out august 2019 and the album wasn't out until may 2020 same with 'give yourself a try' came out june 2018 and the album wasn't out until november 2018.
May 9, 20223 yr Author To be fair, Notes was supposed to be February but was delayed until May due to vinyl issues IIRC... though that is still quite a big wait I suppose!
June 1, 20223 yr Author Rumours are that it will be announced or released today, and Lorde is featured/involved in some capacity!
June 1, 20223 yr Author Posters are appearing in London with the date “July 7” which is a Thursday, so I assume that’ll be the release date for the lead single. It’s a shame that it’s so far out... but at least there’s something confirmed on the horizon...
June 1, 20223 yr I'm in full Lorde mode at the moment following her concert earlier in the week so I hope this amounts to more than backing vocals!
