That vs:

And what about our future plans?

Does this thing we have even make sense?

When I got the whole world in front of me

So I said, "I don't wanna be alone forever

But I can be tonight...

I don't wanna be alone forever

But I love gypsy life

I don't wanna be alone forever

Maybe we can see the world together

I don't wanna be alone forever

But I can be tonight, tonight"

A beautiful poetic love song~

What were those axe wound execs thibking, overruling her with Gypsy in favour of Applause?! Incredible!
I've overheard your theory, "Nostalgia's for geeks"

I guess sir, if you say so, some of us just like to read

One second I'm a Koons then, suddenly the Koons is me

Pop culture was in art, now art's in pop culture, in me

Ok? :naomi:

Clever lyrics, different from Gypsy's cringy and childish lyrics

Who in the wide world of f*** identifies with THAT mess of a song? Umm, global celebrities, pretentious people, and THAT IS IT!
So many people can identify wirh Gypsy, whereas Applause is pretentious shite.

Tell that to US radio listeners who made Applause her BIGGEST RADIO HIT in the US to date ;) Applause is a solid and catchy pop song, unlike Gypsy which is just a 4 minute noise with cringy lyrics.

Ever heard of PAYOLA ;) They HAD ro get rasio to play it via moolah, and moolah talks, because NO ONE was listening to it. Pretentious drivel that ruined her image even more. The lyrics are abysmal. Gypsy is a work of pop art.
What is clever about those woeful lyrics btw?? Gypsy has clever, poetic lyrics. Pretentious Applause is just a mess, ans its floppage and Artflop's DISASTROUS floppage after it, are testament to that. Can't argue with an flop facts!

Except you don't say any facts, you just troll

Gaga, unlike 99% of the music industry, never paid to be played on the radio. Applause was well received by the public which was reflected in its great callouts, which made it her biggest hit on US radio to date and that is a fact. Personal opinions cannot go against facts and that's another fact. ;)

The fact is the song majorly flopped across all markets?? The fqct thqt radio played it due to payola is furthrr ttestament to the fqct thqt no one was listening to it by choice. No one bought it!+

The entire album flopped following it!! It took YEARS to rehabilitate her image and for people to stop calling he pretentious, or out of ideas, or that she had lost it!

These are FACTS. Gypsy would have been no.1 and is far better and more universal. Accept it.

‘Gypsy’ sounded like something that would have been played during an X Factor auditions montage — a hit!

It’s anthemic and sounded very current at the time — radio friendly, easy, basic. It could have been huge.

Sour Candy needs ha ears checking, stat!!!

Gypsy is HUGE!

Roar is also pretty basic, but how big was it? ;) It could have launchrd another 5 no.1s era for Katy with the current singles campaign, whereas Applausr eas one of the biggest A lister pop flops ever.

Everything - from the vocals to the lyrics to the backing track and insteumental to the meaning to the feeliny - is better in Gypsy. GaGa wanted to release Gypsy first, but label said no :( She should have stood her ground, like Britney with ITZ. Britney's label eanted to pass on releasing Toxic and eanted Iutrageous as the first single :cheeseblock: Britney avoided that absolute mess. Shame GaGa didn't with Applause.

1. Gypsy

2. DWYW wiyh Miguel

Easy first two singles choice

Let's quickly remind ourselves of these lyrics:

I stand here waiting for you to bang the gong

To crash the critic saying, "Is it right or is it wrong?"

If only fame had an I.V, baby could I bear?

Being away from you, I found the vein, put it in here

I live for the applause, applause, applause

I live for the applause-plause, live for the applause-plause, live for the-

Way that you cheer and scream for me

The applause, applause, applause

Give me that thing that I love (I'll turn the lights out)

Put your hands up, make 'em touch, touch (Make it real loud)

Give me that thing that I love (I'll turn the lights out)

Put your hands up, make 'em touch, touch (Make it real loud)

Make it real loud

Put your hands up, make 'em touch, touch

(A-P-P-L-A-U-S-E) Make it real loud

Put your hands up, make 'em touch, touch

Lordy that's bad!!! Pretentious, and no one is going to identify with those lyrics. Meanwhile, Gypsy and Roar - its contemporary competition - were both universal ;) So do the maths, Adeltia!!

How a song manages to be so basic and yet so pretrntious at the same time is a feat all unto itself!! THAT was the artpop she was talking about!!
