I’m sure this week in 2002 was the week Cowell realised the potential of shite covers could have in the chart through the rest of the decade via talent shows!

He had already inflicted Robson & Jerome on us with their shite covers.

They playing 'Pushin' P' - does this have a similar rather questionable taste meaning to Drake's 'Girls Want Girls'?

Is this the first time they've actually played this one on the Chart Show?

Yup, and therefore my first time hearing it! (wouldn't have been unhappy if they continued not to play it now though lol)

Biography

Tion Wayne

Tion Wayne is the North London cult hero climbing the mountain to the top of UK rap royalty. Making his breakthrough in 2014 with debut mixtape Wayne’s World, the icon from Edmonton effortlessly dissected his experiences of trapping, the street life and run ins with the law. Later, Wayne’s World sequels in 2016 and 2019, via 2017’s Transition EP, would further Tion’s standing in the scene, keeping the streets fed and cultivating his now undeniable status as a staple in UK rap today. His musical dexterity has been proven over a myriad of sounds, from UK drill anthems such as one of 2020’s best, ‘I Dunno,’ and ‘Keisha & Becky’ with Russ to assist on hits such as NSG’s Afroswing-leaning ‘Options’. In a relatively brief time, Tion has racked up multiple UK Top 10 singles, over 500 million streams, frequent radio play on BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra and placement on the popular Spotify playlists Hot Hits UK, Rap UK and Who We Be. Critical acclaim followed in 2020 with his GRM Rated Award win for Track Of The Year for the colossal ‘I Dunno,’ proving just how far Tion’s music has travelled and inspired. - Spotify

M24

The fresh prince of saucy drill is now Mr consistency from beginning 2019 rapper M24 has managed to consistently bless us with Bangers and continues to build a solid fanbase which has reach millions of streams. Now M24 is back with the socially conscious banger “Peter Pan” one of the first singles M24 has released from his debut Mixtape that would be dropping on the 31st of July. “This new track covers a number of different things, but the main message is about growing up in the Angel Town estate in Brixton and the struggles that come with that and how music continues to been an escape from the harsh realities of living in South London. Life around where I’m from it’s not a easy place to grow up kids, constantly seeing violence, criminality and the day to day struggles so this is what i remind my self I’ve come from nothing and had nothing to becoming someone and having more, I love doing music and the music seems to be doing me well and I’m out here as a young black man living like “Peter Pan” and I appreciate and thank God all my fans and support for making this Possible”, says M24. M24 delivers raw and authentic bars combined with important messages and a neat flow - factors that have made it impossible to mistake him for any of his contemporaries. - Apple Music

Biography

Bradford’s BBCC are MCs Kane, GK, Clive managed by Darren Booth aka “Dr Google”. Deeply influenced by the ‘bassline house’ clubbing heritage they grew up around in the North of England as well as emergent UK and US rap. The boys’ have created something of their own new sound, lacing pacey 4x4 bass-quakes with a frantic lyrical fire that veers from infectious ear-worm hooks to wry observational punchlines. Think The Streets meet T2’s ‘Heartbroken’. Embracing the term ‘charva’ as a way-of-life, together they channel the nuances and absurdities of northern street life into hugely addictive tunes. The new single 'Don't You Worry About Me' is out now, and the debut mixtape ‘Full Wack No Breaks’ was released summer 2020. - Spotify

He had already inflicted Robson & Jerome on us with their shite covers.

Indeed, did they come from a tv show or just well known from being on itv dramas?

We also had the Power Rangers earlier than that!

The recent domestic violence thing, it's why he was binned from that Regard track that was about to be released recently.

Oh blimey.

Indeed, did they come from a tv show or just well known from being on itv dramas?

I never watched Soldier Soldier but I think their characters sang something on that and it went on from there :(

looks like this is going viral so could be a future #1

Good to see Wilkinson climbing :D

Shame Sigala's Melody being denied a top 40 place this week though.

I never watched Soldier Soldier but I think their characters sang something on that and it went on from there :(

Yes they sang it in an episode in 1994 and then Simon Cowell badgered them.
