Releasing his global smash hit ‘Are You With Me’ back in 2014 and quickly cementing himself as a name to watch, the track rapidly ascended by hitting multi-platinum status and taking the #1 spot in 18 countries. Add to this Lost Frequencies was the first Belgian artist to secure his first 5 hit singles charting at the #1 spot on the Ultratop official Belgian charts, as well as the first Belgian artist to hit #1 in the UK, he went on to release his long-awaited debut album ‘Less Is More’ in 2016. The album, with notable singles’ ‘Beautiful Life’ and ‘What Is Love 2016’ dazzled globally, certifying a future star for a new generation. Lost Frequencies also firmly established himself as one of the strongest, fastest rising talents with his debut entry in the 2017 Top 100 DJ Poll at #26; ‘highest new entry’ that year. As the accolades multiply for Lost Frequencies, counting wins for ‘Dance International’ and ‘Hit of The Year’ at the ECHO award ceremony (comparable with the U.S. Grammy's) amongst his awards, he has also become a leading light in the world of streamed music. To date his music has received over 1 billion plays and counting as every release, from his remix of Major Lazer, Justin Bieber & MØ’s ‘Cold Water’ to his most recent release ‘Crazy’ with Zonderling (already a #1 airplay hit in Belgium, Germany & Poland), continues to receive support from fans across the world. - Spotify Calum Scott Calum Scott honed his huge, honeyed pipes singing other people’s songs, but he didn’t fully find his voice until he began creating his own intimate pop vignettes. Born in 1988, in the Northern England city of Kingston upon Hull, Scott first took up the drums, while his sister Jade became the singer of the family. Eventually, Jade discovered her brother’s natural way with a fierce falsetto and chilling vibrato and signed him up for a local singing competition in 2013. He sang Paolo Nutini’s “Last Request” and won. Following that thrill of performing in front of a crowd, Scott joined Maroon 4, a Maroon 5 cover band, before tagging along with Jade at an audition for the ninth series of Britain’s Got Talent. There, with a stunning, slowed-down version of Robyn’s “Dancing On My Own,” he blew away the judges, especially the notoriously scathing Simon Cowell, who pressed the “Golden Buzzer,” sending Scott directly to the live semifinals. Nerves got the better of him in the finals, and while he didn’t win, the singer used that exposure to launch his solo career and start writing material for his 2018 debut album, Only Human. Like his showstopping Robyn cover, Scott’s original songs are both poignant and empowering, especially the swaying, gospel-tinged celebration “You Are the Reason” and the piano-powered tearjerker “No Matter What,” a raw retelling of his experience coming out to his parents. Such personal tales bring out a sincerity and soulfulness that show Scott’s songwriting to be just as moving as his voice. - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History Lost Frequencies 2015 01 Are You With Me -1- MILLIONAIRE 2015 29 Reality (feat. Born Adedamola Adefolahan, he grew up singing in church, started making music while at university, and eventually was signed by Nigerian rapper Olamide’s independent label, YBNL Nation. “Jealous,” his 2018 breakthrough single, won Listeners’ Choice honors at the 2020 Soundcity MVP Awards Festival, presented by a popular African music TV channel. Within three days of its release, Fireboy DML’s 2019 debut album, Laughter, Tears & Goosebumps, garnered more than six million streams on a single music service. In July 2020, his “New York City Girl” reached No. 11 on Billboard’s Top Triller Global chart, and a month later, “Eli” peaked at No. 7 on the same chart. His sophomore album, APOLLO—featuring guest turns by American rapper D Smoke and Nigerian singer Wande Coal—rose to No. 14 on Billboard’s World Albums chart in 2020. - Apple Music Ed Sheeran There’s a lovely moment a little ways into Apple Music’s Songwriter documentary about Ed Sheeran in which Sheeran, jet-lagged and carrying a cup of tea, straggles out into a yard in Malibu at dawn, sits down at his laptop and begins writing a song about the moment right in front of him: the crisp air, the birdsong, the hot tea, the day ahead. He gets a full verse in, melody and all, then pauses. “Songs are weird things,” he says. “How so?” an interviewer asks. “They just come and go,” Sheeran says, smiling. “And they never give you any warning.” For Sheeran, they seem to come pretty reliably. Born in 1991 in Halifax, England, he started out gigging on the UK pub circuit before releasing his first studio album, +, in 2011, and has since become one of the most unstoppable singer-songwriters in music, forging a light blend of folk, pop, hip-hop and dance that feels slick but lived-in, intimate but universal. Whether on his own (“Sing”, “The A Team”, “Shape of You”, “Perfect”) or in collaboration with artists from Taylor Swift to Eminem to Justin Bieber, Sheeran has a unique ability to strike a chord that feels both bittersweet and redemptive, good-natured and genuine: the hopeless romantic who convinces you he might just be right. In 2017, he was made a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, touching Prince Charles on the arm while shaking his hand—a breach of royal protocol, and an appealingly human one at that. - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History Fireboy DML 2021 02 Peru (Fireboy DML & Ed Sheeran) -NAS- 0 x #1 | 4 x Top 5 | 1 x Top 10 | 1 x Top 20 | 1 x Top 40 | 1 x Top 100 Ed Sheeran 2011 03 The A Team -1- MILLION SELLER 2011 35 Hush Little Baby (Wretch 32 feat. March 4, 20224 yr Author  Future chart hit? Dave Starlight Non-album single Released: 3rd March 2022 Label: Dave / Neighbourhood Recordings Video iVWsP3IadBk Biography Challenging power and perception with a free-spoken approach to rap, Dave has indelibly amplified hip-hop’s voice in Britain. Born David Orobosa Omoregie in Brixton, London in 1998, Dave suddenly implanted himself in the UK rap scene in 2016, first with the electric grime alliance “Thiago Silva” with AJ Tracey and then when Drake jumped on the remix of the velvety “Wanna Know” from Dave’s first EP, Six Paths. Rebuffing label advances to pursue his career independently, he demonstrated a self-reliant streak on releases such as his 2017 EP Game Over, whose “Question Time,” a scathing attack on Theresa May’s Conservative government, garnered him an Ivor Novello songwriting award. Dave’s full-length debut, the Mercury Prize winner Psychodrama, followed in 2019; epitomizing his achingly honest rap style, it laid bare personal vulnerabilities while challenging institutional racism in a provocative fashion rarely heard in British rap. The centerpiece of the lavishly soundscaped album was “Black,” a heart-wrenching portrait of the prejudice affronting Black lives. At the 2020 BRIT Awards, where Psychodrama won Album of the Year, Dave started his performance of “Black” by accompanying himself on piano and ended it by excoriating British Prime Minister Boris Johnson as a “real racist” and executing a perfect mic drop. - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History 2017 51 Wanna Know (feat. March 4, 20224 yr Author  Future chart hit? Camila Cabello featuring Ed Sheeran Bam Bam 2nd single from Familia Released: 4th March 2022 Label: Epic Records Video -8VfKZCOo_I Biography In an interview with Apple Music about her 2018 debut Camila, Camila Cabello told a story about a conversation she had at a Grammy party. It was a guy—a famous guy, a celebrity. “A flirtationship,” she called it. But even as their chat warmed up, Cabello sensed the guy was still performing, like he was stuck in a loop he couldn’t turn off. It freaked her out a little, but it also reminded her that too much polish can ruin anything. “I feel like the human stuff, the twisted stuff, the little isms—that’s what makes people interesting,” she said. In a culture where relatability has to share space with professionalism and hustle, Cabello has become one of the most grounded, appealing artists in pop, the kind of singer whose real-life circumstances—a young Cuban American woman, a little OCD, hopelessly romantic—comes through in her music without ever seeming idiosyncratic or self-involved. The conversation at the party? She wrote a song about it called “In the Dark,” because that’s what Camila Cabello does. Born in Havana in 1997, Cabello sang with the reality-show group Fifth Harmony before starting a solo career around 2017. Her best tracks—“Havana,” “Crying in the Club,” “Sēnorita,” “She Loves Control”—merge the sound and feel of classic Latin pop (from Celia Cruz to Calle 13) with contemporary R&B and the singer-songwriter intimacy of Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift. As much as Cabello is a product of her upbringing, she’s also a reflection of the merging of Latinx culture with the global mainstream—a sense of responsibility not lost on her, but not steering the ship either. And as big as she gets, she works to stay grounded. “The human part of life is what makes you happy,” she says. “Just, like, conversations with people. Even walking in the street and having a stranger smile at you—that’s what really makes you happy. - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History Camila Cabello 2016 42 I Know What You Did Last Summer (Shawn Mendes & Camila Cabello) 2016 16 Bad Things (Machine Gun Kelly & Camila Cabello) 2017 12 Crying In The Club -NAS- 2017 15 Know No Better (Major Lazer feat. March 4, 20224 yr I think Dave has a HUGE chance of being #1 next week I think it will be between Dave, Peru and WAYN
March 4, 20224 yr Lmao at them finally giving 'pushin P' a chart show play 8 weeks in as it's likely making its exit from the top 40. Really not much of interest going on in the top 40 this week, glad to see the continued fast gains for 'Where Did You Go?' (would be down for that to be a future #1), and also good to see Tate McRae re-peaking, I've not been a fan of any of her previous songs (especially 'you broke me first') but I actually really like 'she's all i wanna be' so I'd be quite happy to see that grow into a second big hit for her, not sure it is likely to climb too much further though if it's still outside the top 20 after a month. Woo for the new peaks for Luude, George Ezra and Wilkinson as well. Central Cee getting the #1 album after all then, but still an extremely impressive return to form for Tears For Fears. They playing 'Pushin' P' - does this have a similar rather questionable taste meaning to Drake's 'Girls Want Girls'? I think we'd need Future to explain what 'pesbian' means to determine if that one lyric is offensive or just incoherent  (the phrase 'pushin P' in itself I think is meant to mean something along the lines of 'keeping it real', I wouldn't really bother analysing the lyrics of this one too much though, Young Thug's verse starts with literal incoherent mumbling and then him saying he 'just fucked a cup of water', the height of lyricism x)
