OMG :o love that episode, it explains everything, and Peter not such a wet blanket anymore

Yes it was a great episode. I love the way they have brought Cindy back. Indeed a genius idea.

I remember fancying this Peter back then

So nice to see he’s back! Need to catch up on tonight’s episode but Twitter spoiled it!

Incredible episode. The show is on top, top form.

And i've avoided all spoilers too (muted the Eastenders social media accounts and blocked the word on social media too !!) If we can keep future spoilers in here in tags too that'd be great!

^ I agree, would really appreciate anything that hasn't aired yet on BBC1 being in spoiler tags!

This show is firing on all cylinders right now, amazing to think of how far it's come in the past 12 months. Chris Clenshaw knows exactly what he's doing and it's so good. Rebuilding the Beales is a genius move, they've felt lacking for far too long!

Ian! Thomas Law as Peter! Lauren! So much to unpack :o the latter's performance in the hospital really stood out to me in a positive way. Also glad Peter was apologetic, happy to swiftly forget the last incarnation :kink: when I saw the leaks about a Cindy return I was a bit wtf but am living for this all unfolding now, most hyped I've felt pre-episode airing in a while.
Still a disgrace they killed new Janine Abbey to protect the Bakrd Bean, all because some producers fancy him.

Completly agree. The way he has turned the show around in 12 months is remarkable, and I can only imagine how far he will take it in the next 12 months. EastEnders is truly back on form and long may it last as I'm excited watching an episode again.

I was at prom last night so only watched really late but it was pretty decent. I feel there’s some more explanation coming, it’s hard to contain so much in an episode. I’m not totally sold on Ian’s ‘it was always you’ attitude because it, well, just wasn’t, especially after Cindy had ‘died’.

Great to see Thomas Law back as Peter-a quicker recast than the last Ben one with this being under a year later-I never took to the last two Peters so this is a very positive step. Let’s hope they redeem the character too.

Not overly fussed about a Lauren thought. When the taxi arrives I knew it’d be here but hoping it’d be either Jane or Cindy Jnr. Lauren is an overrated character and actor and yes, I’m still pissed they killed Abi instead.

Too far fetched this Cindy Beale comeback,so Ian Beale back with a woman who wanted him shot. Didn't need the Beales back.

LIES!!!

Cindy Beale hiding out due to witness protection is pretty good! We pnly got ONE on screen MESSAGE she was dead, and Cindy would have done anything to see her kids again sooner.

The fact that the police woman talked about how she shot Ian was funny, too! Adds to rhe comedy-drama vibes that work so well in soaps, as a lot of what happens is just ridiculous anyway.

There's still so so much more to come with this story and we still don't know how either Ian or Peter came to find her alive. If she was in witness protection then no one should've found her so I'm hoping they don't wash over that (not that I think Chris would ignore these details).. plus there's everything with George, Gina and Anna too

Great move bringing Cindy back and another step in strengthening each family unit on the square.

I never had too much issue with Cindy actually not being dead (except why they had to kill two of her kids in that time) but for me it’s Ian and her being back together that will take more explaining. I’m sure we will get it but so far ‘it’s always been you’ isn’t quite enough for somebody who has just watched through the original Cindy years.

Lola's funeral episode was beautiful

Tonight's episode - We've had real character development with Suki over the past couple of months and now we're back to pantomime villain Suki who lurks in the shadows grinning after her family just threatened somebody out of the Square

Finlay really was a very under-used character, wasn't he.

He kind of just turned up, dealt with his Dad dying and then spent most of his time standing behind a stall in the market.

Not surprised to see him leaving.

One episode on and suddenly Felix is back in drag and back in the limelight, which he hasn't been for a while.
