The absolute turnaround of this show is ridiculous. Chris Clenshaw should take a bow.

Delighted for EastEnders and the clean sweep of awards. The turnaround is incredible and I genuinely think the show will go from strength to strength.Hats of to Chris Clenshaw.

As amazing as the show now is, we’re still seeing echoes of the shitshow it was. It hammered home today that in the middle of seeing Lexi’s support network rallying around her, we glimpse poor Mia on her first day of high school. Also starting without her mum around and apparently not one member of her fairly extended family could even show their faces in that scene.

 

Chantelle’s death is of the biggest mishandlings they have.

Focusing on Mia wouldn't offer any chances to get another 'woe is Ben' scene in there though :kink:

Cindy's return was a return that isn't needed, it's a bit desperate really. They've done it with Dirty Den, Kathy Beale, why go for the hat-trick?

I disagree. I don’t think the word ‘wooden’ applies at all. I think they’re inexperienced but I have been enjoying them as characters and think they’ll improve with time.

I would've said you already had re Cindy coming back. The whole storyline is OTT and tbh any return from the dead is a dubious - however the build up, plotting, reveal and return has been fantastic. It needed to be good, intricate etc for it to work.

 

But the return, flashback and the whole of last week + the build up with the Rose reveal, Peter and Ian return has been great.

 

Obviously they need to carry that on and integrate Cindy back - but I would definitely say that along with the flashforward, Lola's storyline etc has got people more engaged with EE than they had been in quite a number of years.

Why not? They should do it for Ronnie and Roxie AND Abbie and Steven. It's a tv show. Retcon these pointless deaths. Abbie got killed off, in the most bizarre, random storyline ever, to protect a male that the producers fancy.

 

These Ben Mitchell stories are getting WORSE!! They also want us to think that drip is tough lol.

I'm very glad after rewatching the Cindy Beale comeback and regarding Anna & Gina that I've been proved wrong on both. :)

 

 

Why does EE always have people punch people? Just glamorises violence. In everyday society, this doesn't/ shouldn't happen!!! I know there were those incidents with my neighbour, but those were like one offs!!!

It does feel odd that Kat is all for calling off the wedding because Phil kept Alfie’s confidence when she decided she would stay with him after his actions lead to her and her son being held at gun point just nine months ago. That was clearly when she should have left Phil.
