Who did Martin call when he and Zack were talking about family? Bex? Ian?

I will say though Kheerat getting life with no evidence baffles me (yep it's another prison saga like Janine). Even with his confession, what evidence do they have linking him to Ranveer's death

This week's episodes have been amazing. The last two especially just blew it out of the water. So much crammed into each episode and so many twists and emotions.

 

The actress who plays Amy is by far the best out of the younger characters.

I guess if he confessed and if he showed no compassion or regret for his "crime", then they might well have thrown the book at him?

Ben Mitchell stikes once again :rolleyes: really felt for Zack at the end there. Also cannot deal with Phil just being allowed to say Ben was the winner of that fight when he was down for too long and then the bell went - and then only Martin calls him out on it in The Vic :')

 

Actually there was a lot wrong with this episode. Callum, for a start, just hearing the news that Lewis has been arrested and Ben isn't coping well with it and he just shrugs him off with a hand gesture and walks out of the gym? Their relationship hasn't felt natural at all since they got back together last year.

Zack's HIV reveal felt really really forced. I get it was a heated moment, but it didn't feel like the right time. Ben's language too was abysmal, even calling Martin Zack's boyfriend just shows how they really want to still put Ben in a box of expressing his internalised issues into nasty jibes at the expense of others.

Keanu just running on about having a christening when Karen and Bernie had literally just mentioned they'd been to Roland's... real smooth and shows he just wants to one-up his mum as opposed to actually supporting Sharon and his son.

 

On the upside, great moments from Jean and Harvey and of course Denise/Jack/Amy shining through. Zack being a friend for Ravi could be nice and grounding for Ravi, he certainly needs someone to lean on as he hasn't got his family's support that's for sure. I can tell Billy finding out about Lola is going to be heart wrenching.

Wonder if we'll get an on screen mention of Linda contacting Nancy after Zack's reveal.

I felt it wasn't the best time for Zack to tell all.

He was just feeling good about himself and then all fell apart a bit tonight.

Guess we're now in for the divided opinions on his revelation.

A much much better episode tonight. Bravo to them in showcasing the different levels of understanding on HIV which really does reflect how different generations react to it now. The scene between Ravi and Nugget where Nugget was educating his own dad on how to find out about HIV and what it means for his business was poignant, along with The Vic scenes too with everyone speaking about it and their opinions changing by the end of it (King Felix deserves a mention too). EE has really done the leg work with this storyline and I hope it has helped viewer understanding too.

Sharon Marshall has returned to the EastEnders writing team having previously worked on it in the early to mid 2010s. Her first episode as a returning writer goes out on May 3rd.

I got all choked up when Roxy appeared, what a lovely moment

The roxy moment was done well. Lola and Jay are killing it for me I think there scenes together are fantastic, there is a rawness that makes it so real. They hopefully will win best on screen partnership at this years soap awards.

Drunk Kathy is always good value.

 

I’m surprised Janine got 5 years given the lack of any evidence that they hadn’t already had access to 10 months ago but then look what happened to Kheerat.

Another really good episode. We stan drunk Kathy.

Lovely moment between Ben and Jay in The CAFF. Every time Pam is mentioned I really just want her to come back permanently.

Janine getting 5 years? K then.

Do not care for Keanu whatsoever but Ravi's twists and turns in his behaviour are keeping me interested for what's next.

My goodness, I should have been but I really wasn’t ready for that nauseating propaganda mess. Straight in there with Linda’s opening monologue that said something like ‘forget your problems today, the King is being crowned’ so, so tone deaf. And once again, not one character portrayed as anti royal. Pearl’s general indifference was as close as we got.

Generally i hate episodes evolving around real life events as they just drag on and this was no different

I think I’m going to enjoy this new Elaine, she even had moments tonight that reminded me of the old one.
