  • I’m meeting Jade today 😭😭😭

  • So that's it for Week 1. We have done what we can. We now await the chart outcome. Fingers crossed that she has managed to overtake 21P at LEAST (I think we're definitely heading for an Ed & Sabri

  • This isn’t album-related but I’m not really sure where to put it haha. Jade’s reading a picture book as a CBeebies bedtime story tonight and it’s a book I worked on 🤯 I’m a children’s book designer,

What I love about Jade and her solo career is that you can really tell that it's her passion and she WANTS it.

I feel like with most ex-pop group members (besides Mel C) they start a solo career just to 'see how it goes' and then give up if it flops and then move to reality TV/presenting/influencing etc. They usually release one album and wait around for their group to reunite. Even with Cheryl who's released FOUR albums I never got the impression from her that being a solo artist is her passion or that she really craves solo success or to release critically acclaimed music, it's more like she releases the music to stay in the public eye and help with brand deals. It's like she completely gave up on her career once she stopped getting the easy number one singles. Geri Halliwell did the same.

Obviously Little Mix will get back together at some point for a tour (at least) but I have faith that Jade will continue making music regardless of how well it does commercially. She loves being a pop star and making music. I mentioned Mel C earlier and I think it's the best comparison - she's been making solo music and self funding it for a while because she just loves singing and making music. No shade to the other Little Mix girls but I really can't see any of them pushing a solo career for much longer without the commercial success.
