Posted March 16, 20223 yr To celebrate 20 years of the album 'Toca', Fragma are re-releasing it for Record Store Day with a few new mixes tacked on and a vinyl release. It got to #19 in the album chart in 2001. It looks like we could also get an official release of Toca's Miracle onto streaming which would be a nice touch considering it's never properly been available in the UK with the vocal aside from the 2008 mix (also available on this release). Alongside Toca's Miracle, the album also spawned the singles Everytime You Need Me and You Are Alive. Toca Me has had a new remix released. We'll also get the Above & Beyond remix of Everytime You Need Me and new mix of it from Bodybangers. vudDq9jW_GY
April 22, 20223 yr Finally! From the OCC: An instant classic, Toca's Miracle had chart sales totalling over 185,000 in its first week alone. To date, its total chart sales stand at over 711,000.
April 22, 20223 yr Interesting..... they've recorded new vocals! Those are not Coco's vocals.... I know there was a long on-going dispute regarding royalties and stuff
April 22, 20223 yr Interesting..... they've recorded new vocals! Those are not Coco's vocals.... I know there was a long on-going dispute regarding royalties and stuff That's what I thought too, I just wasn't sure if it was me hearing the song so unfrequently that I forgot what the vocals sounded like.
April 24, 20223 yr Author I did see a TikTok about Toca's Miracle's absence from streaming yesterday which pretty much explained that Coco wasn't really credited/paid for the use of her vocal which is disappointing to hear about. I know some places credit her, but back in 2000 it didn't seem to be the case so I'd imagine there'd be some uproar from her camp if a version with her vocal somehow made its way online. It makes sense to re-record for the re-release; I assume the 2008 Inpetto Mix on here is also a re-record too?
April 24, 20223 yr Shame Coco's original vocals can't be approved for the digital release. I tried to get the vinyl yesterday but it was sold out everywhere I looked. One of my favourite dance albums, I pretty much love every song on it. The singles are all brilliant classics and Magic, Do You Really Want To Feel It, Everybody Knows and Take My Hand are wonderful album tracks. Edited April 24, 20223 yr by gooddelta
April 24, 20223 yr If you want the original version you can find it on Now That’s What I Call Music! 45 from 2000. But yes I would much have liked the official version to be streamable.
April 24, 20223 yr I love the original so it’s not surprising that I’m not here for the re-recorded vocals. Such a shame they can’t sort out a settlement payment or something so they can get the original version with Coco on streaming and digital. Now 45 is one of the only complication albums that features the original, even some of the dance albums out at the time only had the ‘Toca Me’ version on.
April 24, 20223 yr It was on Now That's What I Call The 00s, released in 2010, and the digital only album Now That's What I Call 2000, which I believe was released a few years later but has since been removed from iTunes and streaming. So despite the royalties dispute, it seems that into the early 2010s it was still being licensed for CD and download use, and obviously Coco's vocals also appeared on the Inpetto remixes in 2008 (to answer Lewis' earlier query, the vocals on the 2022 re-release have also been changed to the same ones now used on the original version). But at some point in the 2010s it was removed from the download sites it was on (unless it was 'album only' anyway in those cases, I have no way of knowing), and has never been available to stream.
April 24, 20223 yr They did a good job with the re-vocalling, my only (small) gripe is the word "miracle" doesn't sound like it has enough power behind it.
April 24, 20223 yr They did a good job with the re-vocalling, my only (small) gripe is the word "miracle" doesn't sound like it has enough power behind it. Agreed!! She sounds really similar, but has to do a vocal hiccup on miracle.
July 2, 20222 yr what tha hell, here is the reverse case. Toca's Miracle has been 'covered' by Coco Star herself  . Yes it's the original vocals but music sounds awfull, a 1:1 imitation. The re-recorded phrases "tocame" "esta tarde se me va" sounds awfull  xQ-_w23xmKk  the opposite case VeYmdHS-iYA Edited July 2, 20222 yr by JOTA
July 2, 20222 yr How odd, seems rather pointless they've gone for that route rather than reconciling with Fragma, I'd definitely take the re-recorded Fragma version over that given their better production effort. I may as well counter that with an actually great remake of 'You Are Alive' from Craig Connelly.. zXEUfaAXb_c
July 3, 20222 yr So you can't get the original, but you can get the original vocals on a remade track or new vocals on the original track!? What a bizarre situation...
