It worked well as an opener, but it would work even better as a show-closer. Closing the shows on high energy and not like a funeral with Million Reasons.

I agree Million Reasons was a bit of an odd choice of closer (although I guess the show did dip in pace towards the end) BUT in my opinion it should've had Bad Romance + The Cure as the encore.

So the final tracks:

Million Reasons

Joanne

-encore-

Bad Romance

The Cure

or in a more ideal world and to fit more thematically, Bad Romance earlier in the setlist, and TEOG as the first encore track but that'd never happen.

Diamond Heart was made to close the shows, the song structure doesn't lie. The Cure as the final song? Too bland for that! The audience would leave the show with a taste of the Chainsmokers in their mouths, and that's not a good thing, which is why her Coachella set wasn't remarkable.
