Again about a difference of 72k between As It Was and First Class on Spotify and now AIW is back at #1 on iTunes. I doubt Jack will be able to catch up to end up #1 on Friday.

I know HH is a mess and keeps old songs high on the list all the time

but having Harry as cover and him having the #1 in the UK and still placing Peru as track #1 is all kinds of wrong

and sure the result of a well-received check :D

I'm seeing Peru at #3 on HH, with Baby at #1 and Harry at #2?

Same here, they must have reshuffled it a bit.

I think it's important to remember that while HHUK has a big impact on the chart, it's not there specifically to serve the chart. It just happens to be the most popular playlist in the UK, so the order of its tracks doesn't have to match the Spotify chart (after all, the chart has its own playlist).

Comparing the Spotify Friday to Monday streams this week against last week:

Where Are You Now down by 3.1%

Down Under down by 1.3%

Peru up by 0.58%

Make Me Feel Good up by 1.9%

Middle Of The Night up to #42. Further down, J. Cole - No Role Modelz reaches its highest ever position of #79.

Peru and make me feel good coming to swerve ACR <_<

Guess it all depends how they are doing on another platforms too,

Make me feel good has dropped a fair bit on Apple in the past 1,2 weeks (#15 now)

But Peru and WAYN are at #5 and #6 respectively, and have been at them 2 same positions for a while

I’m okay with make me feel good avoiding acr tbh but the rest can join

All ready had 26 week chart now need keep new track come though hope David guetta top 10 2nd week when deedwood clear out long no cheeky girls top 100

In fairness to ‘Peru’ and Spotify I’m not fan of either but it’s been one of the biggest hits over the past few months so makes sense that it’s placed high for the average listener. It’s just the nature of the charts these days.
All four of them feel very overdue ACR at this point - any of them serving would feel a little ridiculous (and convenient lol). Peru's literally been in the top 10 the whole year :drama:
Things get annoying artistes bring new song out like Tate McRae did everyone does went new one still get stuck there old song
Things get annoying artistes bring new song out like Tate McRae did everyone does went new one still get stuck there old song

I think there's a number of factors for that - chaotic is less commercial-sounding than she's all i wanna be and it's not really getting the same push, so of course the established hit is going to continue to stick around.

The chart has felt exceptionally slow this year though and I think part of that is the gang of old hits that seem to be refusing to succumb to ACR. I know The Motto and Anyone for You aren't exactly super fresh at this point either but we'd be looking at them potentially making the top 10 next week if all four of Peru, Where Are You Now, Make Me Feel Good and Down Under head to ACR. Both are established hits so top 10 peaks would basically be the cherry on top at this point, same for Night Away (Dance) which could also have a chance.

Things get annoying artistes bring new song out like Tate McRae did everyone does went new one still get stuck there old song

The Belters Only situation is annoying too, considering I and quite a few other buzzjack members have said they much prefer Don't Stop Just Yet to Make Me Feel Good.

The silly thing is if any of those 4 songs do avoid ACR, it'll probably be by an increase that's less than the market - with the fact that they might have a small increase having more to do with the weather and it being the Easter holidays than any meaningful rise in their popularity.

I think the rule should be changed so that a song has to increase by more than the market OR a threshold such as 2.5%, whichever is lower, to count as an increase.

Peru's combined sales have either decreased or increased by less than the market over previous 4 weeks already - the week it increased, it was by 1.3% when the market was up 1.68% - so it could have then gone to ACR after its final week at #3. Under the original ACR rules, when pure sales were taken into account as well as streaming, it would actually have gone to ACR back in February (once it first dropped to #3 with TJATQ entering at #2) since its combined sales had fallen for 3 weeks and more than the market each time (evidently in the second of those weeks its streams must have fallen by less than 0.62% even though its combined sales fell by 1.3%), so the rule change at the start of 2019 has already granted it an extra 8 weeks, with possibly another 3 on the way if it swerves again:

w/e | position | combined sales | % change | % market change

3/2 | #2 | 44,885 | +48.1% | +1.05%

10/2 | #2 | 40,054 | -10.8% | +1.30%

17/2 | #2 | 39,538 | -1.3% | -0.62%

24/2 | #3 | 35,133 to 39,092 | at least -1.1% | +0.75%

3/3 | #2 | 32,864 | at least 6.5% | -3.81%

10/3 | #2 | 34,849 | +6.0% | +0.45%

17/3 | #2 | 37,807 | +8.5% | +1.63%

24/3 | #3 | 37,523 | -0.8% | +1.03%

31/3 | #3 | 38,003 | +1.3% | +1.68%

7/4 | #3 | 36,912 | -2.9% | -0.34%

14/4 | #5 | 30,637 | -17.0% | -4.12%

I think the rule should be changed so that a song has to increase by more than the market OR a threshold such as 2.5%, whichever is lower, to count as an increase.

I’ve said this before but I think it’s the three consecutive weeks rule that silly and it should just be something like when you drop below 80% or 85% of your peak streams and you’ve had more than 9 weeks you go to ACR. There have been cases where it’s felt like a song has gone too soon after three very tiny declines, as well as where songs have hung around too long by having two big declines followed by a level week.

'Peru' appears to have been down by at least 1k in the Monday midweeks compared to last week so I don't think it's likely to swerve ACR again. (It is still one of the better songs in the top 10 right now imo and the songs looking to replace it are not exactly great but still of course not going to be complaining at it finally going to ACR as it has more than had its time).
