Possibly Wales or Scotland with England and USA. Amazing!
Wales, Scotland or Ukraine going in England's group. There's a special story behind any of those opponents.

Group F: Belgium, Canada, Morocco, Croatia

Group G: Brazil, Serbia, Switzerland, Cameroon

Group H: Portugal, Ghana, Uruguay, South Korea

Group B has a chance to have the most storylines ever in a World Cup group.
Doesn't look like there's an obvious group of death this time around - possibly Group F looks the most evenly matched you'd say. England's group is fun, glad we avoided the South American teams in the group stages. Think it's all pretty messed up as I'm sure there will be an advantage for teams playing not during the middle of the day.

Group B looks potential for England, I would prefer Wales myself.

Rest of the groups looks pretty straight forward for some countries, Group G Spain and Germany could be the group of death

As an American fan I am very happy. All three matches are winnable and I don't usually get to say that.

Group A: Qatar, Ecuador, Senegal, Netherlands

Group B: England, Iran, USA, Scotland/Wales/Ukraine

Group C: Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Poland

Group D: France, Peru/Australia/UAE, Denmark, Tunisia

Group E: Spain, Costa Rica/New Zealand, Germany, Japan

Group F: Belgium, Canada, Morocco, Croatia

Group G: Brazil, Serbia, Switzerland, Cameroon

Group H: Portugal, Ghana, Uruguay, South Korea

Actually, according to FIFA Rankings. Group B has chance to be Group of Death:

England | 5

United States | 15

Wales | 18

Iran | 21

The Auld Enemy, Welsh, or Ukraine for England.

Come on Ukraine! :cheer:

It's a much more evenly spread draw this time around which means that surprises are more likely to happen in this World Cup. Thinking about it there isn't a team that really stands out and it feels like almost anyone could win it this time. Can't wait for it to start but there's another 7 months to go.

Yeah would agree it is totally wide open, I think the climate favours the South American teams personally but there are so many unknows e.g. the players are going to have to switch off from the league seasons to a tournament, the climate & humidity.

Think the climate could suit England as we will bore teams to death. Think all the teams in the group will be happy with the draw but the likelihood is teams are going to be gassed after 60 minutes.

It couldn't have gone much better for England, that's a great draw for us.

Qatar v Ecuador sound like a fun opening game too. I'm glad they got a pot 4 team opening game as it's nice to the hosts do well in the opening game. Ecuador have a pretty exciting, young squad too. They could cause a surprise at the tournament.

As much as it's nice to see the hosts do well, on this ocassion surely you hope Qatar get absolutely battered? Over 6,000 people dead building their stadia, a dodgy bunged World Cup from the previous leadership. I do love the World Cup, but sportswashing needs to be called out rather than lauded. Really hope the broadcasters & journos don't get swept up in the "look at how much fun I am having" mentality.. just look at what happened with Russia!

I think the tournament being held in Qatar is a disgraceful decision and there's no way they should have been allowed to keep it after the first signs of slave labour but seeing their sports team get beat wouldn't really make me feel any better about it.

I think we should ensure that the controversy surrounding this World Cup should remain firmly in the forefront of this tournament and would support any protest that the England side or any side agree on but I don't think the criticism or focus should be directed at their team or its players. More on FIFA and the Qatari officials that have ran the campaign and the preparation for the tournament.

It’s hardly the Qatar national teams fault what’s happening with the tournament! I mean you do know why everyone hates England don’t you?

Yes it's not the Qatar national team fault, but that's sportswashing for you. They're still a product of the State and their practices in aquiring players is also somewhat dodgy! I'll have them out at the first opportunity ideally.

It’s not really sportswashing if you’re opinion on the country doesn’t change. I just think wanting a football team to do bad because of the actions of their country’s government trivialises the very legitimate issues somewhat.

Anyway, FIFA have announced the schedule and the opening game is actually Senegal v Netherlands. England v Iran is at 1pm U.K. time on the opening day.
