Looking forward to Ncuti's second season! The trailer looked good too.

Very interested in the Juno penned episode as she wrote the Redacted podcast a couple of years ago. Inua's could also be a good one.

Can't wait after the trailer, some of those names are interesting though hopefully lux is completely different to flux

Don't think there'll be any link there at all going by what we know about the episode. Lux = light.

Honestly after seeing the second trailer I already love Belinda a lot more than Ruby. Giving so much more depth and personality.

Tbf i think Ruby is kind of underrated and it didn't help that the conclusion to the arc was pretty anticlimactic

20 years since the 2005 revival!

This Twitter thread is absolutely hilarious:

The Long Game = "how's Adam?"

Rise of the Cyberman = "I'm 39 actually"

The Lazarus Experiment = "Shut up I'm not 70"

The Last of the Time Lords = rhythmic tapping on door

Turn Left = Jane's dream

Just a few highlights that had me screaming. 😂

Wish World and The Reality War are being screened in cinemas as a double-bill on Saturday 31st May like the finale was last year, and The Reality War won't be released on iPlayer at 8am so I'm starting to worry now that we could actually be in for a regeneration here 🫠

I wish it was affordable though. I completely understand it's "event cinema" but both cinemas near me are charging £16-20 to watch 😭

Now confirmed that The Reality War won’t premiere at 8am, simulcast worldwide releasing at the same time on BBC One, iPlayer and in cinemas. “Extra special length” too, supposedly!

There’s commentary about what to expect in the episode on the DW website, but having just read it I think that’s waaaaay too much to be giving away right now drama

Now somw leaks are saying it's cancelled, but that' based on the piss poor ratings, the terrible doctor being the most unpopular in history, and the fact Disney doesn't want to renew the deal without a new doctor and showrunner, and the studios being taken down. But the Andrew leaks say Billie Piper??? is the next Doctor, and she would be a good one, and we need a new female doctor AND someone who UNDERSTANDS THE ROLE!!! and that RTD will stay on :(

IF it's not axed, RTD HSS. TO. GO. These two series were the worst things I hsve ever seen in Doc Who. Ever. He is shite. We need soneone to come in snd retcon Timeless Child and give good sci fi again. That's not that HACK. Geei bloody Halliwell Ego Spice could do a better job than RTD, and that is saying something!!!

No alluding to leaks about the episodes without spoiler tags, Michael.

And you're going to be bitterly disappointed then that it's been said the BBC will continue to produce the show even if the Disney deal ends, with season 3 almost complete and season 4 scripts being written at the moment. The TARDIS set is still standing at Bad Wolf Studios too. A win for us, a day of crying for people who claim to love the show yet do nothing but complain about it forevermore online.

Season 3 hasn't been filmed. Even if the scripts are finished, that's no guarantee it won't be axed. They were swtting up episodes the last time it got axed. If they fire RTD, the new showeunner can just ignore those too.

The confusion happened because the Tardis set WAS taken down, and they told the staff not to expect work with Doc Who for another 10 years. Throw in the 1.5 million ratings, lower than cheap shows like Blankety Blank, and all sets at Bad Wolf were taken down. But I think that doesn't mean it's cancelled, and the new rumours about a female doctor are the right ones. BBC apparently wanted Martin Sheen (again. He's been their first choice since after Tennant!!!!).

But BBC should listen to Disney. They know what they're talking about. They said they'd only fund a season 3 with a new doctor and showrunner, and absolutely refused to continue with RTD. RTD is driving it into the ground. He was bad enough the first time round! We need to disregard those scripts, bring in Moffat, and do a whole storyline with the Fugitive, which will also retcon Timeless Child. Timeless Child makes the doctor LITERALLY IMMORTAL and gives it the same power prblem as the invincible Avengers. It makes it boring af. There can never be any drama.

We know season 3 hasn't been filmed yet, but the fact this news is the most reliable thing we've heard about the future of the show (from the same person who's commented in recent years on several that have turned out to be correct) means I and many others are willing to take that as the good news we were hoping for rather than feeding into doom-mongers. There's more guarantee at this point that season 3 will air in 2027 with The War Between the Land and the Sea filling the gap in 2026 while season 3 is in production (Ncuti isn't available for much of the remainder of this year so it'd be impossible to push a series out for next year).

Can you cite your source for the TARDIS set having been taken down? Have you been on a tour of Bad Wolf Studios recently? Of course other sets will be taken down, it's the nature of TV production. The only set that will be a permanent fixture in the studios is the TARDIS, while others that are only used for single episodes will be dismantled while other shows are in production.

Can you cite your source for Disney's comments on season 3 / changing cast and crew? No, because all of this comes from angry YouTubers, angry classic fans that are dismayed the show isn't the same as it was back in the 70s, angry right-wingers that love to call the show woke at any given opportunity, that are desperate to see the show fail but like to call themselves fans.

Moving forward Michael, if you want any posts of yours to be approved in this thread provide valid sources alongside your comments.

The source is someone who works in tv and knows people who work on Doctor Who.

The Andrew leaker has said it IS getting a season3, so it likely will be, but you can see why the original rumours were the axe, between the ratings, Disney not renewing and only renewing if RTD went, and the sets being tsken down. Bad Wolf is now renring out all its space for 2025 and 6, btw.

I think it needs a rest tbh and has needed one since Capaldi. Capaldi's first two sessons were a HOT MESS. The third was brilliant, but then we got the boring Jodi years and Timeless Child... and missed opportunities due to the writing. Timeless Child is them scraping the barrel for ideas. The Doctor turning into an angel and the dugitive doctor could have been HUGE, season long events!!! And they would have been, given a rest and a new showrunner. Same with the Doctor in prison.

We've known they were renting out studio space this year for a while now. And given what we know now, there's nothing to be alarmed about. There's not been any comments made about them renting out studio space next year, but it's worth noting that their studios in Cardiff have seven stages. Doctor Who only ever occupies three of those at a time from what we can tell from Unleashed (two episodes being filmed in parallel on two stages + the TARDIS being on a permanent stage).

And when I said cite your sources, I didn't mean Jimmy from down the road who heard from someone who works on the show who knows my friend who knows my gran. Please provide links to valid, official sources.

Your source has a proven track record of being wrong - https://www.buzzjack.com/forums/topic/251162-doctor-who-%E2%80%A2-2022-specials-jodie-chibnall/page/8/

But nope, my source is never wrong sbout doctor who. They left just when I said. I know what's happening in the finale and have known for MONTHS. Confirmed by the Andrews leaks also being right.

Re-read that thread. You were dead certain about so many things that never came to be.

And by the way, my house mate works in the film and tv industry and has regularly worked with people that work on Doctor Who. More than once he's passed over working on the show as he isn't a fan anymore. I know how much bullshit gets spread around deliberately.
