Fulham have an agreement in place with Wolfsburg to sign defender Kevin Mbabu.

The fee is believed to be worth €7.5m - €5.5m (£6.4m - £4.7m) up front plus €2m (£1.7m) in performance related add ons.

Forest are making some good signings on paper, but it kind of feels like they are almost creating a new team two weeks before the season starts, which feels a bit risky to me. Definitely made some good signings on paper (Awyonyi is potentially a brillaint signing imo) and Lingard would be a real coup. I'm just always wary of teams changing too much though with not much time to embed everyone, especially with how this season is structured.

Unfortunately clubs don't have much choice when their promotion was achieved with a heavy reliance on loan players. There were only 15 players that played 1,000+ for Forest minutes last season, Steve Cooper had a settled squad of trusted players and backups weren't used much. 5 of those were on loan and haven't returned (I'm sure we'd have liked 3 but Spence we had no chance, Man Utd will take ages to decide what to with Garner, and Villa have put way too high a priced on Davis), 2 were out of contract and wouldn't sign, Samba had a mardy about his pay situation so we've upgraded, and Joe Lolley is a shadow of his former self and told he could leave.

So we're down to a decent 6 a side team and that includes Jack Colback - I'm not sure you want him to be a regular in the Premier League in 2022.

Samba is a joker, who does he think he is like. Lucky he won his place back last year!

Bordeaux say they have reached an "agreement in principle" with Southampton for a deal that will see Sekou Mara move to St Mary's.

The French side say the 19-year-old forward will now travel to England for a medical and to sign his contract with the Saints.

Reports in France earlier on Thursday said the deal is worth €13m (£11.1m).

Middlesbrough have turned down rival bids from Premier League new boys Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth for Marcus Tavernier.

Both offers were in excess of £10m for the midfielder.

1 year with the option of 1 more for Lingard makes it a bit of a no brainer really, minimises the risk. Reported to be closer to 120k a week than the original figures, which I think is fine for a player like that - proven, on a free and brings a greater commercial reach

Brentford have agreed terms with free agent Ben Mee and the defender will undergo medical checks on Thursday.

The former Burnley captain left Turf Moor after 11 years in the summer and is said to have rejected two other Premier League clubs who made approaches.

That's a good signing for Nottingham Forest, I have the feeling Lingard will do really well for them. It's a shame it didn't quite work out at United but his loan spell at West Ham showed that he can be a consistent performer.

Arsenal have completed the signing of versatile Ukraine player Oleksandr Zinchenko from Manchester City.

Yeah I like the signing of Zinchenko too, good versatile player. Worries me slightly though if we has been promised time in midfield - I think he is decent there, but suspect there is a reason why Pep never fancied him in midfield.
