I deleted the Times interview, the sizing was just getting on my nerves.

Nothing special in it anyway except for the lovely cover picture , everything else we have read elsewhere -_-

Only 100 songs for a new album!

He always has plenty songs knocking about. The article is similar to the one I posted in the Biopic thread. Wonder if he opening the old can of worms with the Take That thing. I doubt it's going to be pretty.

Can you imagine how big Lost would have been if released at his prime!
Outselling the who of the top ten combined? Very happy to be completely wrong :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

This Friday will calculate all pleasant records!!

Very happy too!!

When will we know he's got it

Being Robbie's fan is a big pleasure for different reasons.

A lot of releases, great performances, different genres, tons of humor, interesting and not banal lyrics and records as well = ))

Glad this is heading to No.1, it's a really good album, I love a lot of the new arrangements - for me some work very well (No Regrets, Tripping, The Road To Mandalay), some less well (She's The One, Bodies), and a few sound very similar to the originals (Love My Life).

I bought the two disc CD and I'm glad I did or I'd have missed nearly all of the great new songs. I already knew the original Disco Symphony from The Boy In The Dress but nice to hear Robbie do it. But my favourite is The World And Her Mother, what a gorgeous song - it reminds me of Electronic - Getting Away With It, it certainly has a very PSB/Electronic feel to it. More Than This is really good too.

Looking forward to seeing Robbie in London next month!

I agree with you regarding the new arrangements.

No Regrets, Tripping, The Road To Mandalay and Rock DJ which is my favourite from the classics on the album. It's even more Barry White than before but that's what I like after all these years of hearing Rock DJ in the same way )))

I heard or read somewhere that in Feel - XXV they have used his old vocal from a very first recording.

They wanted to use this vocal for a version on Escapology firstly but then Rob recorded a version which everybody knows.

As I understood this example with Feel is only one exception for the album.

And I like the fact he rerecorded at least 28 new parties for 28 tracks - too much for a just compilation isn't it? So yes, we can call it a bigger record than just another Best Of one.

---

Electronic - Getting Away With It reminds me Prefab Sprout as well, while GAWI reminds Robbie's song as well.

The difference between Robbie's stuff and PSB is having violins and bells instead of synths. But a vocal's manners are the same like Neal's indeed.

Anyway, I would like to hear Neal's opinion on The World And Her Mother :)

Yes, it's a wonderful song from the beginning to the end, including that bridge!

---

Regarding More Than This... While I'm a big fan of Roxy Music's song (and Lost In Translation ;) I like Rob's song too.

It's already more The Beautiful South mood and more 00s Robbie in his great B-sides of those years...

So, if he has 100 more new songs like these we could calm and sit and wait

The World & Her Mother does indeed have a very PSB flavour to it . really nice track .

Interesting that already now (36K) Robbie has the best sales per week than somebody else per 1 week excluding Harry Styles (113K per week), Liam (70K per week), Muse (51K per week), George Ezra (44K per week).

For example, Paolo Nutini sold 34K and Beyonce sold 31K per week.

So, I suppose Robbie must overtake George but maybe will not catch Muse but will be close. We will see.

And also need to admit there is no any promo for him in UK right now: all of them were cancelled or postponed.

And talking this and looking for releases (can't see any big names) during next 1-2 weeks Rob could stay as Number 1 if all promo for him what was scheduled happen.

Now it's not so clear and I'm not sure about a few weeks. But actually since Swing Both Ways there were no albums which had been #1 longer than 1 week. So...

So, let's say that his mgmt has already done a good work.

Do you have an idea how it will chart in other countries

I guess it will be no 2 in Germany (they have a strong local competitor) and possibly number 2 or 1 in the Netherlands. But this are guesses. Any better data supported ideas :-) ?
