Still vinyl left at the pop up shop - they said they are down to the last of it now so should be gone before the store closes tomorrow.

I am a bit underwhelmed by the initial sales data for the first day / pre-orders, given with DISCO they shipped the standard cassettes a little bit later. But one day sales are very deceiving due to missed data, so Monday should give us a more clear prospect.

I am as well a little underwhelmed by Hold On To Now’s performance on Spotify, as I expected a sure-fire top-100? Happy Tension’s (just about) back though!

My little friend at BMG who also has the inside track at ARIA (pun intended) has told me that "Tension" will debut at number 1 in OZ with the biggest first week sales this decade.

Wait... BMG isn't her label in Australia, so how would he know?

Also at the pop up today cassettes had been heavily shopped compared to yesterday so good that extra sales have been had - the deluxe CD didn’t appear to have had many takers though.

The thing with the pop up is that there are so many items people can buy - not everyone wants to buy a vinyl or cassette if they cannot play them but bottle of Kylie wine yes please!

Regarding the album, I wish it was bit more experimental but it's definitely her best since Aphrodite.

I listened to the album earlier today and it was okay but I can't see myself returning to it that often. Hold On To Now, Tension, You Still Get Me High and Story have all been added to my Kylie playlist though as they seemed like the best on first listen.

I could see why a few of you were rating Vegas High too but it just felt like it was missing something for me

My very wild guess would be:

Padam — 750K

Hold On To Now — 650K

Things We Do for Love — 300K+

Tension — 500K

The rest between 200-300K

Now I’m actually interested how far off will I be haha.

So I overestimated pretty much everything by around 100K, oops! Singles apart, this is not much higher than DISCO.

At least she’s smashing it on Apple Music!

Well its nearly a 30% increase from Disco...... and a few less songs

I hope they add whatever is left to the Kylie store, I need that vinyl

There is also a cost of living crisis now and when Disco came out no one could do anything except stream music and buy online lol.

Are any supermarkets stocking Tension, thats usually a big seller for Kylie.

Kylie & Team seem to control stock and limit vinyl numbers, literally not wanting many left overs.

Streaming is never easy, i mean Olivia Rodrigo and Doja Cat just released streaming albums that take up lots of space in Streaming charts.

Plus Disco had G Norton on release day etc

Disco mid week released signed CDs and Cassettes so lets see if they do anything on Monday after 1st midweeks are out. Will the singles get their vinyl moment.

Am sure there is lots of data missing, pop up shop sales to add, double cassette sales to add, + some streaming sales and then Saturday/Sunday sales

I would be surprised if on Monday she is not over 40k

Tension is doing better than I expected so far, I expected or hoped for at least Discos kinda sales

Lets see

Not to be rude, but can we stop the underwhelmed comments please?

To say a one day figure of over 31,000 is disappointing is really misunderstanding the album market at the moment. It’s a higher opening figure than Olivia started with last week and she has three songs in the UK top 10 and she’s one of the biggest stars in the world. It’s already sold more in todays 24-hour update than Beyoncé’s full first week sales for her album last year.

Since ‘Disco’ the album market has really probably collapsed about 30% of sales I would say… and on top of that she’s already outselling the rest of the top 10 combined. Of course this is brilliant news, but it also means that there will be no chart battle this time to incentivise the fans even more.

The fact that streaming is up 30% on Spotify is great, and we know from the positions that Kylie’s biggest streaming numbers are coming from Apple Music. I would guess that would at least be up 50% from Disco, which will help with extra data for sales by the end of the week.

I still expect this will manage a slightly higher opening sales than ‘Disco’, but even if it falls short, Kylie on her 16th album is still opening with at least 50k and outperforming 99% of the the music industry 35 years in her career. Let’s just celebrate that. Underwhelming to who exactly?

I'm not crazy about the synth-heavy tracks. She is several years late to jump on the 80's bandwagon just now. Everyone (and their mother) has done this sound in recent years.

Hands' verses remind me of Beep by PCD.

For now, I think Golden remains my favourite of the BMG years.

Is there anything you’re not underwhelmed by ?

It’s only going to have probably the highest sales of any female artist of the year and outsell the whole Top 40 but yeah you be underwhelmed 😂

It’s only going to outsell the whole Top 40

No, it definitely isn't.

Tension’ debuts with 3,312,725 streams on Spotify in its first full day surpassing ‘Disco’ (2.6M) with less songs!

The first day sales I'm very happy with and it doesn't include streaming so I think it's all looking good for kylie to hit silver on debut week.

With promo coming, another day of the pop up shop etc I think her sales will climb nicely all week.

9th Number 1 is more than safe now so congrats Kylie :D

Great that it's doing well in Aussie aswell and on track to get her another number 1, I'd love if it could get number 1 here in Ireland aswell as her last number 1 album here was Fever.
