06.07.2023 - MadCool Festival, Madrid, Spain

https://madcoolfestival.es/en/index.php

Robbie, The 1975, Paolo Nutini in the same day?! Wow!

Mad Cool has made it's name on bringing mammoth lineups to Madrid since its maiden voyage in 2016, and in 2023 they're ensuring that trend continues.

A total of twelve headliners have been confirmed for next year's summer celebration, with Red Hot Chili Peppers, Lizzo, Queens of the Stone Age, Liam Gallagher, Robbie Williams, Sam Smith, Machine Gun Kelly, Lil Nas X, and The Black Keys all taking up headline duties. There will also be a return for The Prodigy post-Keith Flint, with another two headliners yet to be revealed.

Revealing the bulk of artists heading to the Spanish capital from 6-8th July next year, there's a strong presence of rock music as per usual with more pop, R&B, and electronic music making its way on to the bill.

Away from the headliners, the likes of Jamie xx, The 1975, Sigur Rós, Rina Sawayama, Paolo Nutini, Jacob Collier, Years & Years, Tash Sultana, Rüfüs Du Sol, Angel Olsen, Bombay Bicycle Club, and Franz Ferdinand are all making their way to Madrid too.

For the full list of artists appearing at Mad Cool Festival 2023 so far, see the poster below:

So, it's officially the most historical place for any Robbie's concerts in his career. Ok... after Pula Arena =))

Yes, I wonder how touring in the Winter will work for him, most of the venues are indoors for that period so I guess it does not matter . Has he ever toured in Winter before !

He must be feeling good to have committed to so many ..

Robbie Williams and Sam Smith to headline Summer in the City festival in Bucharest

Uhru0Hr.png

Constitutiei Square in downtown Bucharest will host the Summer in the City music festival in June next year, which features superstars Robbie Williams and Sam Smith as headliners. They will be joined by Editors, LP, Calum Scott, and Abby Roberts, among other artists yet to be announced, the organizers said. The event is scheduled for June 3-4, 2023.

Robbie Williams returns to Bucharest after the sold-out show held in the same location in 2015. Thus, hits such as "Let Me Entertain You", "Angels", "Millenium", "She's the One", "I've Been Expecting You", and many others will be performed again in Bucharest's Constitutiei Square in 2023. In addition to winning numerous awards and seeing his singles and albums topping many charts, Robbie Williams also holds a Guinness World Record for selling 1.6 million tickets in a single day.

Sam Smith is also one of the greatest English singers of all time, whose songs have gathered billions of views on streaming platforms. With an Oscar and four Grammys, Sam also received an American Music Award and a Golden Globe. And he is coming to Bucharest for the first time in 2023.

Two-day tickets for the Bucharest festival can be purchased online at Summercity.ro and Iabilet.ro. Early General Access passes cost RON 449 (then the price will increase from RON 499 to RON 669 on the day of the show), while Golden Circle tickets cost RON 839 (and then up to RON 1,119). In addition, 2,000 VIP tickets are also available for RON 1,679.

Summer in the City is a festival presented by Marcel Avram in collaboration with D&D, East European Production and Concerts East.

First of all, let's update his Top-5 Tours by concerts' quantity by 17.12:

25 Years Of Hits - 75 (~1.6M spectators)

Close Encounters - 57 (3M)

Swings Both Ways - 50

The HES - 48

LMEY 2015 - 42

Second, definitely Robbie haven't ever been a fan of long tours.

So for him 75 concerts is a big big result!

But you maybe know that another big stars do 100+ concerts per tour.

Bruno, Coldplay, Taylor, U2, etc.

For example, the current (unlimited and started in 2018) farewall tour of Elton John should reach 333 concerts:

Do you think there will be more?

I think so. At least I'm waiting for Latin America dates in Sep/Oct.

Do we have an idea when the Netflix documentary will be broadcasted?

I think in spring

I take it the 3m for CE was due to the use of stadiums , it was a great tour at the time but he did not have family then to accompany him which I assume he will this time for at least some of the tour which I think will make a difference to the mental health aspect of it plus I am sure Ayda is well able to say "enough is enough" if the need arose

I think that he is n a good place in the moment. He is hungry and will do what it takes to keep his family's lifestyle. I don't think that this is so much about his fear, but him wanting the family secure.

Also Alex, your argument about the length of tours even through two years is interesting. I guess it costs so much to create a tour with all its technic and logistic that they have to tour long with a certain equipment.

What I realize following a bit the scene in NL and Germany is, that many artists who had been huge in tours before the Pandemic and very famous still in record sales could not sell enough tickets these days and cancelled the tours.

Considering this RW is indeed still in the top 20 of touring artists.
