Robbie Williams in Türkiye's Bodrum: Music, laughter, Turkish culture

Music enthusiasts were treated to a night of exhilarating entertainment as global music icon Robbie Williams took the stage in Bodrum, showcasing Williams' unparalleled talent and charisma, captivating the audience from start to finish. In the enchanting coastal haven of Bodrum, Türkiye, where the Aegean Sea's azure waters meet the star-studded sky, a truly enchanting experience recently unfolded that swept attendees off their feet.

The anticipation was palpable as I entered the concert arena at Lujo Hotel Bodrum, ready to witness the legendary Robbie Williams take the stage for what promised to be the concert of the summer. My heart raced with excitement, and I could feel the crowd's energy buzzing around me. The stage was set, the lights were dimmed, and the atmosphere was electric with a sense of anticipation that only a true superstar can generate.

As the first notes of "Let Me Entertain You" reverberated through the air, Robbie Williams burst onto the stage, commanding the attention of every single person in the audience. With a mischievous grin, he declared, "I've been making music for 32 years, and tonight I'll show you what fun really means." And oh, did he deliver on that promise.

Throughout the hour-and-a-half concert, Robbie effortlessly weaved between his hit songs, engaging the audience in a personal and heartfelt way. He regaled us with stories from his early days with "Take That," sharing videos that took us back to the nostalgic era of the 90s when he embarked on his musical journey at the tender age of 16. His witty banter and infectious laughter filled the air, creating an intimate connection that made us feel like we were sharing a moment with an old friend.

The setlist was a journey through the different chapters of Robbie's career, from the energetic rendition of "Strong" to the soulful and emotive performance of "Feel." As he belted out classics like "Kids" and "Rock DJ," the crowd danced, sang along, and surrendered to the enchanting spell cast by the music.

In a candid moment, Robbie revealed that he is experiencing the happiest phase of his life. Reflecting on his younger years, he playfully confessed to having two rules: Never to marry and never to have children. Yet, here he stood, a testament to the unpredictability of life, proudly declaring his love for his Turkish wife Ayda, and their four children. As he dedicated the poignant song "Love My Life" to a couple in the audience and their young son, the heartfelt emotion in his voice was palpable.

After a brief intermission, the energy reached a crescendo as Robbie returned to the stage for the second half of the show. He serenaded us with the timeless melodies of "No Regrets" and "She's the One," captivating us with every note. But the encore performance of "Angels" truly stole the show.

With a twinkle in his eye, Robbie dedicated the soul-stirring ballad to his wife Ayda, who proudly embraces her Turkish heritage. He shared a heartfelt revelation, exclaiming, "I realized that my wife's favorite features are that she is Turkish. That's why I love Turks so much." As the notes of the song filled the air, Robbie pulled out his phone, dialed Ayda's number, and played the song live for her to hear. It was a moment of pure magic, a tribute that transcended the boundaries of the stage and reached the depths of the heart.

As the final chords echoed through the night, I could not help but marvel at the extraordinary experience I had just witnessed. Robbie Williams had not only entertained us with his exceptional musical talent, but he had also invited us into his world, sharing his laughter, his stories, and his love.

The Bodrum concert was not just a performance; it was a celebration of life, love, and the unifying power of music.

This is until now a very successful tour from fans and also critics sight. He must know to use his crafts far better than in the past or he is simply more stable as i do not hear anyone indicating a decrease in performance. Well done and great that he performed in Ayda's ancestry country. Thank you, Syd for the review from Turkey. I saw that there had been very many articles but many of them were protected so that translation would have been quite a challenge. :-)

Robbie Williams Norfolk concert ticket scam warning

Norfolk fans of Robbie Williams have been warned to be aware of online ticket scams that are catching eager concert-goers out ahead of his appearance at Sandringham this weekend. The warning comes following reports that people are falling victim to touters who are using Facebook Marketplace to offer tickets to his show this Saturday (August 26), only to cut and run when any money is given.

The social media platform allows scammers to quickly and efficiently reach a large number of people without having to provide details or even meet face-to-face.

Mike Andrews, lead co-ordinator for the National Trading Standards eCrime team, said: "As summer music festival line-ups are announced, we expect criminals to exploit fans' excitement by flogging fake tickets on forums, sham websites and social media.

"Criminals selling fake tickets online is becoming more and more prevalent and we urge people to avoid disappointment by being on guard when purchasing sports and music tickets online." Action Fraud, the national reporting centre for fraud and cybercrime, is similarly warning the public to be careful as figures show more than £6.7m was lost to ticket fraud last year. A spokeswoman said: "Criminals may offer deals on sold-out or exclusive events, however, once you have parted with your money, the tickets are either fraudulent or never appear at all.

"Remember, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is."

A national awareness campaign was launched in April by Action Fraud after it received 7,088 reports of ticket fraud in 2022, further urging people to only purchase tickets through legitimate box offices, official promoters or well-known ticketing websites.

Showman Robbie Williams thrills Malta

Robbie Williams lived up to the hype on Thursday evening as he delivered a jam-packed set of some of the most memorable hits of a generation to a bumper crowd at the Granaries. Ricocheting between hits like Feel, Rock DJ and Kids, Williams dominated the stage in Floriana for almost two hours.

Wearing a glitzy gold vest, he kicked off with the song Hey Wow Yeah Yeah, before indulging in his mega-hit Let Me Entertain You, which set the tempo for the estimated 20,000 crowd. There was even space for renditions of Take That hits as well as a cover of Oasis’s song Don’t Look Back in Anger before closing his set with his classic Angels, whipping up the audience to a big singalong frenzy. Always the storyteller, Williams spoke about addiction, survival and sobriety, as well as his angels and demons – the 49-year-old singer has a history of drugs before cleaning up his act.

The highlight of the concert for many was his interaction with the crowd, homing in on two members of the Maltese audience - Priscilla and Daniel - for a number of times during the show.

The crowd roared and it was reflected in comments and clips posted on social media.

"Great show and vibe, but what I kept thinking throughout was what an absolutely brilliant communicator he is," Daniela Attard Bezzina said on Facebook.

"Crowd interaction was top. Great entertainer and showman," said Matthew Bugeja.

The tour, which is in support of his latest compilation album, XXV, cements Williams’s status as the solo artist with the biggest number of UK number 1 albums in the UK.

Organised by NnG and Greatt, the concert also featured performances by Maltese band Red Electric and Shaun Farrugia who set the perfect stage for the big act.
