As much as I don't want City winning it this year (or any year for that matter) it is always somewhat enjoyable to see a European giant get humbled on the big stage. City made Bayern look like a league 2 team last night. Probably knocked a few 10s of millions off the vastly overrated Upemacano's price tag too.

Upemacano is like that, he’s a good defender but he loses his cool. Bayern could have easily scored before Rodri smashed a worldie in. Makes me feel less bad about Liverpool getting spanked there the other week

I would rather have had the result be the other way around. It's only Real Madrid that would realistically stop City from winning it this time. I've got a bad feeling about the whole thing!

I've heard some people talking about them winning the treble this season and that would be an absolute piss take. That's just reserved for Man United

Something will surely derail them from doing that!

Your post is oozing a lot of Man United fan vibes there Houdini!

Interesting that've still got Napoli as faves over AC Milan despite the latter beating them twice including a 4-0 thrashing at home within the last few weeks.

Man City vs Real Madrid (if that Semi transpires) is the final really.

Not sure how City are favs considering they have never won it before and Madrid are the European cup holders?

City are favourites every year and the bookies never learn... its very much like Brazil and every world cup.

AC Milan reached the Champions League semi-finals for the first time since winning the competition in 2007 as they saw off Serie A rivals Napoli in an incident-packed game.

Milan could face Inter Milan in the last four, with their city rivals going into Wednesday's second leg with Benfica holding a 2-0 lead.

Congratulations Frank

So out of his depth he couldn't even get the almost guaranteed 'new manager bounce' effect.

Had they scraped through it would have annoying but they've absolutely destroyed Madrid there. With not even winning La Liga either Ancelotti won't make next season surely.

Incoming inevitable "Is this the start of European dominance?" headlines

We laughed year after year but really it was bound to happen at some point with the unlimited chances City get every season. On the positive side of things this might somehow mark the beginning of their eventual downfall because they are bound to lose some motivation along the way, they're not likely to have the Sir Alex Ferguson inspired lack of contentment that meant nothing was good enough.

Ahhh Man Utd fans getting twitchy bums that their Treble achievement is going to just become a small footnote. Things you love to see.

City were always going to do it at some point, just like Chelsea did. Only thing that annoys me is none of the media mention all thise 115 charges they have against them. Madrid beat a Liverpool form horribly out of form and a Chelsea side in dissaray.

Nah, our treble achievement will never be a small footnote even if 1,000 teams do it we will always be the first English team to have done it. It's not even mainly about that anyway, it's just Man City themselves winning the European Cup.

Exactly, just like if City eventually do an invincible season it's not like Arsenal's will suddenly be forgotten either.

At least we have an active chance to stop them ourselves with the cup final.

And of course we can't write off Inter yet either, they've been defensively rock solid in the knockouts.
