Forgot to check how the Armenian song goes, I remember kinda hating it during the EU contest

From the YT comments it has a similar appeal to Gayle, Leah Kate, girl power anthem for the tiktok generation :)

Have we ever had a hit from an Armenian act? I seem to recall System Of A Down are at least partly Armenian?

 

Can't say Snap was one of my favourites this year, but it did have quite a memorable performance. I do like the trend of TikTok giving some Eurovision songs a life after the contest though, you really never know what will catch on these days. Arcade went top 40 two years later, Think About Things had a very sustained run despite no contest being held, and now Snap looks set to benefit too.

 

If it does make the top 75, then I guess it's got to be the lowest ever placing foreign entrant to chart in the top 75? Last placed Lose Control by Waldo's People got to No.100 in 2009, but i can't think of anything else lower than You by Robin Stjernberg, which finished 14th in 2013 and charted at No.72 here. Of course, Jemini and James Newman's last placers charted here out of the flop UK entries.

There was one member of System Of A Down who was born in Armenia and the rest of them have Armenian heritage (but don't think they have ever actually lived there).

all the System of a Down guys had Armenian ancestry but only 1 was born in Armenia although he moved to the US as a child and later became American citizen so non is actually Armenian proper like this EU girl is

Wonder if 'Hello Mate' can go Top 200 on Spotify after just a few hours like 'Flowers' and 'War' did. That would be a good indicatoin of a Top 10 debut.
