'Dancing' is an opening for the album 'Golden' and her first BMG release which turned around quite a bit her career trajectory. It has still gone Silver in UK and is her last (new) top-40 single from BMG era. 'Golden' era was so exciting to follow, and BMG did a very good job keeping it afloat for the whole year. Nevertheless, now it is the second slowest track in the top-20 after 'Stop me from Falling' off the same album, but hopefully it will be remembered and continue gaining more streams.

 

Now we have the first two singles from another BMG era - the newest 'DISCO'. 'Say Something' is the second biggest gainer pretty much by default, as in the previous countdown it had only just been released. It took a while to grow on me, but now I really love it, and I love how the song "unfolds" with something new until the very last seconds. 'Magic' is a bit higher and is actually one of my least favourite tracks from 'DISCO', never got the fuss over it. But well done for having such a streaming hit for her.

 

'Get Out of My Way' left the top-10 but is still having a healthy increase in streaming, but even the better are dynamics for 'Kids' - a duet with Robbie, the follow up for which we might get in the coming years.

And speaking of the biggest gainer in percentages. It may be a surprise, but it is 'GBI', which gained 1151% on the 2020 figure! As far as I remember, it may also be the case with the late addition to Spotify, but now it gains some low-key streams. And here is a reminder of how

Now scrolling back to the start from her other label age and the most successful one - Parlophone! 'Spinning Around' opened it and so much more new audience for Kylie. Amazing song, which gained double of her streams in the last two years, it also climbed into the top-10 kicking out 'Get Outta My Way'.

 

'All the Lovers' is also here, just above 'Get Outta My Way' and falling 5 places too in sync with it. Instead, 'Love at First Sight' gained two places, now being placed as her 7th biggest streaming hit! But what has gained above them all is 'The Loco-Motion', which has added more than double of her previous streams, overtaking 'Love at First Sight', 'Get Outta My Way' and 'All the Lovers' from her catalogue. It is her very first single of course and by far the most popular song from her early days.

 

And finally, here lands the last 'DISCO' track, it's 'Real Groove', obviously helped by numerous versions and remixes, including several with the streaming force Dua Lipa, who made a (slight) appearance in 'Infinite Disco'. I feel it won't grow that much in the next years, but the difference between it and 'Magic' is so big that I don't think they will swap anytime in the coming future. But well done for raising almost 50 million streams for a new single, even if cumulatively. Hopefully the next era will bring us a long awaited new 100-millioner.

I remember MTV hosts making lots of jokes how Kylie had less and less clothes with each coming video, peaking at 'In Your Eyes', a beautiful song which she has co-written herself and a second single after a 'Can't Get You out of My Head' behemoth, which is also here coming first.

 

The top-5 is so weird and doesn't make sense to me though! Except for CGYOOMH of course, which is rightfully at the top. 'Higher', a hit for Taio Cruz, is her third biggest streamer but nowhere near enough memorable from her discography. 'Santa Baby' makes her one of the most popular Spotify artists each December.

 

And finally, 'Where the Wild Roses Grow' is probably the most obscure for me, as much as I love it. Who could have thought this top-20 peaking single from 1995 could become one of her biggest streaming hits, as well as Nick's? But I'm really happy it's that popular, as it's a very beautiful song.

Santa Baby and Higher among her biggest slightly annoys me as for me they are far from her best releases but at least they really bring up her streaming, really happy to see the brilliant where the wild roses grow so high as it will really help bring up its overall sales as the song should have been a far far bigger hit than it was.

DISCO tops the "album chart" and proves Kylie can release a current album that can beat her catalogue albums numbers, including even 'Fever'. But at the same time, 'Golden' slipped all the way to the middle of the list. 'DISCO' has way bigger figures and hopefully won't dip too much down in streams. 'Kiss Me Once' slowed down to the extent it's only at #12 out of 15 now. Maybe next time it will slip below 'Kylie Minogue' too.

 

At the same time, 'Kylie Christmas' crossed 100 million spins in 2 years, and judging by the amount of huge gainers in the past two years this trend will only continue. It will probably easily outlive 'DISCO' but slip below the new album if we do another update after the end of the next era.

 

Among the pre-Parlophone albums her debut 'Kylie' by far does the best being streamed more than the other pre-Parlophone studio albums combined. Another fun fact: 'Real Groove' had more streams in the past two years than all of her albums from 'Light Years' and downwards. 'Can't Get You Out of My Head''s last 2 years' streams were bigger than of the whole 'Kylie Christmas too'.

Loads of 'Kylie Christmas' songs spread out in the whole top-40, making it the biggest amount of songs in the top-40 of the catalogue streamers of the past two years.

 

'Light Years' has four tracks here, including 'Your Disco Needs You'. All three 'Body Language' singles are in the top-40 too, with 'Red Blooded Woman' being surprisingly by far the worst.

Great to see the full list, it's def a weird outcome with how streaming goes for kylie in terms of some songs you wouldn't expect to do well being among ger highest.

I understand why and everything, but 'Santa Baby' being 2nd is so unbelievably depressing.

I agree about santa baby and I'm the same with higher especially when you the classic better the devil you know in 27th place, although I'm very happy with the loco motion, love at first sight and all the lovers in the top 10.

I totally agree. For me, by far the most Kylie Christmas songs don't have any significant value, and while I'm happy they bring a lot of extra streams and raise Kylie's profile, such a huge presence of them in the top streaming tracks above so many classics feels wrong.

Ya it does feel wrong as i don't think many people even know them as Kylie songs, where some of her original songs that are far more well known rank much lower, its strange so many of her bigger hits are so much lower than songs that had little impact when released.

CGYOOMH aside, she really lacks streaming hits for the younger generation, that's why seasonal hits are among her most popular sadly. It's even worse with artists like Chris Rea who has Driving Home for Christmas but basically nothing else.

The good news is her bigger, older hits are improving at a much better rate in the last year, especially the PWL ones…if Loco, Lucky and Devil are ever added to the All Out 80s / 90s they will really benefit.

Ya hopefully they can keep improving and faster aswell as them doing better would benefit step back in time greatest hits much more as the christmas don't help it at all.
