^That was already announced by Raye herself days ago!

New single Black Mascara is out August 26th.

Goodness knows why she hasn't just given up already, she's clearly never going to happen.
Leaving her label has given her, quite rightly, a point to prove. I don't think she cares about the charts she just wants to produce and release the music she wants. She's now building up to her debut album, DEBUT. That in itself is impressive for her considering she's been held back so much previously. Her last single slapped so I'm looking forward to this one.

So just because she's not getting hits means she should give up? Don't be ridiculous.

All my favourite artists of the last 10 years have never ever had a hit single or even get close

but sell albums, tours, have crazy devoted fanbases

this is not 1995 or 2005, the singles and album charts couldn't be more different

you can a huge successful career without hits

Yeah, that comment sounded less ridiculous in my head lol. I didn't mean it in a negative way, I guess what I was getting at was that I'm surprised her record company are still behind her, a lot of artists would have been dropped by now (though I know she has had record company issues too). I do actually like 'Black Mascara', it's more interesting than most of the stuff I've heard from her - although if the masterpiece that was 'Natalie Don't' couldn't get her a hit, I don't really see how this will either but we'll see.

Did you miss the whole saga with her record label last year? She's left them this is all her own independent work now

Oops, my bad, I knew she had some issues with them but I didn't realise they'd parted ways. In that case, fair play to hear and I retract my comment! Let's see if she can get her first big solo hit.

honestly though, she really isn't after a 'hit' or 'chart records' because thats all her record label wanted... hits and good chart positions. they wouldn't even let her release an album until 'call on me' went top 10 and that was the final nail in the coffin for why she separated from them. Hard Out Here and Black Mascara are songs that she wants to make and songs that are personal to her, so although it would be nice for her to have a hit, thats not what shes after

This is amazing! I like the dance style in this one
Yeah this is excellent and definitely more along the lines on the type of music she should have been releasing all along, it shows a lot more about her as an artist.
