United manager Erik ten Hag believes the club have the "players who can fill the gap" caused by Eriksen's absence.

Charges of attempted rape and assault have been dropped against Manchester United footballer Mason Greenwood.

 

The 21-year-old was arrested in January last year amid allegations surrounding images and videos that emerged online.

 

He was later charged with attempted rape, controlling and coercive behaviour and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

 

The Crown Prosecution Service said the charges were discontinued after a key witness withdrew their involvement.

 

A spokesman said: "We have a duty to keep cases under continuous review.

 

"In this case a combination of the withdrawal of key witnesses and new material that came to light meant there was no longer a realistic prospect of conviction. In these circumstances, we are under a duty to stop the case.

Interesting to see what Utd do here. His contract should be cancelled but we’ll see what they do..

Ive seen a split in the Fans between those who don’t want him anywhere near United and those who do. Among the followers of one of the major twitter news reposters, I think it was maybe 60-70% against.

 

I suspect among some demographics it will be the opposite

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has asked his players to focus on football after team-mate Mason Greenwood had all criminal charges against him dropped.

 

The Crown Prosecution Service said on Thursday that charges against the 21-year-old were discontinued after key witnesses withdrew their involvement.

 

United is to "conduct its own process" before deciding what to do next, with Greenwood still suspended by the club.

 

"We have always to focus on the game, no matter what," said Ten Hag.

Think we need a solid option as Centre Back. Varane can't be trusted injury wise and we will end up playing Lindelof or Maguire very often.
