So it seems they did use the Gogglebox influence when making the documentary :)

Loads of news articles about this week on social media with loads of s**t comments but you just have to admit that Rob has an amazing life story to tell . It's great that it's being aired on Netflix as I am sure there are lots of Non-Robbie fans that know little of his life story or even know who he is .
The only problem with not having any talking heads is there isn't a chance for outside perspective, and an opportunity to challenge first person narrative.

& Laura you stood on that very stairs today :)

The only problem with not having any talking heads is there isn't a chance for outside perspective, and an opportunity to challenge first person narrative.

Which would be good if only because Rob himself leans towards the negative about himself.

An outside perspective pointing out that how he sees his abilities *is* at odds with how other music industry professionals

see him (and there are plenty of people in the industry who do know how talented he is) would be no bad thing.

But hopefully Joe Pearlman has edited the archive footage to highlight that contrast.

Ha yes!

It was great there today -only 50 people let in for each screening and we were number 49 and 50!

We were given a free poster :cheer: lanyard, T shirt and pop corn

I won't give anything away except to say part one was very frank and honest. I'm looking forward to parts three because that deals with the whole Rudebox debacle and 2006 Close Encounters tour and part four that deals with where he is now with Ayda and the kids.

Teddy was in part one today and came across as a very grounded, sensible little girl.

Once we had seen part one we went out into the foyer and there were lots of amazing photos, TV screens, mirrors and great photo opportunities.

We spent a good couple of hours there and caught up with a couple of fans we knew -so it was a really good morning .

Robbie Williams to 007: the seven best shows to stream this week

A gripping documentary series follows the highs and lows of the Take That star, while contestants race to win the grand prize of £1m in the new adventure show with Brian Cox

Pick of the week

Robbie Williams

“I’m like a child talking to his mum,” says Robbie Williams, while listening to an old phone call between him and Nicole Appleton when he was recording in Jamaica. It’s amazing how often Williams seems vulnerable, needy and oddly forlorn, even at his absolute commercial zenith. In this gripping documentary series, Williams reviews footage from his life in the spotlight – and it’s a warts-and-all affair, exploring boyband life, his relationship with Gary Barlow, going rogue at Glastonbury, Britain’s rapacious tabloids and much more. Essential viewing for fans, but there’s universal interest in its depiction of the trajectory of fame and how it looks from the inside.

Netflix, from Wednesday 8 November

How is the new stuff:old stuff ratio in part 1?

I am curious if they’ve managed to tell the story of Take That without all the same old archive clips fans have seen a hundred times.
