June 4, 20232 yr Still think she glosses over why she left the band. There was clearly a proper reason for it other thank feeling homesick lol.
June 4, 20232 yr At the time I remember the press saying she wasn't getting along with the 2 sisters in the group.
June 4, 20232 yr Interested to see where this charts - it all feels a bit muted/flat around the release? I’m sure it’s done well on physicals and the Banquet personally signed vinyl sold out which is a good sign.
June 4, 20232 yr I met Louise today at her HMV signing in London and she was so lovely, a great experience  been on a Louise high the last few days after seeing her Shepherd's Bush show on Thursday too!

I’m sure it’s done well on physicals and the Banquet personally signed vinyl sold out which is a good sign. It feels like they released Super Magic far too soon and didn't really invest in High Hopes as the second single so yeah. This is coming across as surprisingly muted, but I assume she's built up decent enough pre-orders to chart within the top 15 at least.
June 4, 20232 yr Author I met Louise today at her HMV signing in London and she was so lovely, a great experience  been on a Louise high the last few days after seeing her Shepherd's Bush show on Thursday too! I'm so glad you had a great time at both events! I do agree that the reaction to her Greatest Hits era has felt a bit muted. Like has been mentioned, the era has been rather drawn out. Super Magic was released on 10th November! Then the GH wasn't announced until 12th January. After a 5 month build up with occasional video drops and another single, she's finally doing bits of promo - but it's colliding with her starting her run in Grease in the West End. :drama: Hopefully the This Morning appearance has been helpful. There at least appears to be a little bit of interest in the Greatest Hits away from the physicals - it's currently #7 on iTunes. Louise sold 6,017 copies to be #11 with Heavy Love, whereas 6,784 was needed to be #10. #10 in the most recent chart needed 5,987 - very close to what she sold with Heavy Love. Yet I feel like Greatest Hits won't sell as much as Heavy Love did? Could she be destined for another Top 15 outcome? It's a shame that Louise doesn't have much Spotify support. It doesn't appear that any of her 90s/00s release are included in any official Spotify playlists, the retro ones. Naked is her most streamed with 1.65m in total, and it only tends to get around 500 streams a day. 2 Faced only 556,716 and that's a Top 3 hit. Even Let's Go Round Again which seems to be one of her most known only has 778,830 streams.
June 5, 20232 yr Maybe a digital deluxe incoming? :cheer: You were right! @1665630305150025729 Includes Don't Ever Change, Slam, Lil Lou and Make It Fit aka tracks from her scrapped 2003 album. Edited June 5, 20232 yr by tommie
June 5, 20232 yr Nice! Downloaded. I misunderstood the tracklist situation on this and bought the single CD from Asda the other day, which of course doesn't include any of the reimagined versions  So this download is welcome, not to mention all the extra stuff here too. I got the £8 bundle. It is a curious release, it's a great package but I think it could have been more clearly labelled, and the version with the reimagined versions could have been more widely available in shops. I already have Changing Faces so essentially I paid £10 for a CD with a few new songs on it, completely not realising the situation. The Spotify version doesn't include any of the originals either, so I was completely confused. I guess it's due to rights issues, and the originals only being licensed for CD or something. June 5, 20232 yr Spent this morning listening through the deluxe editions. I'm not sure the 2003/4 material was that amazing, but it's great to finally hear it and I did enjoy Lil Lou and Bounce Back. I wonder why Don't Give Up was left off all editions, as that was a double a-side with Pandora's Kiss so would have been intended for the same album presumably. My favourite reimagined versions are In Walked Love (Steve Anderson has basically turned it into a lost Agnes single *.*), Naked (love what they've done with this) and Arms Around The World (this will always be my favourite Louise single anyway). And I like both Right Now and Feel of the new songs. Still loving High Hopes too, so a really solid package overall. Edited June 5, 20232 yr by gooddelta

I get the impression that Don't Give Up wouldn't have been included on the album as it was an odd Asda exclusive thing to help push the single - it was even written by the composer of the Asda jingle!
June 5, 20232 yr Now that I've heard them all, 'Naked' is still mt favourite of the reimagined songs. The others are OK but they sound too similar to the originals, whereas the production on 'Naked' really makes it stand apart from the others. Of the new songs, 'Right Now' is definitely the best.
June 5, 20232 yr Author I haven’t checked but I seem to remember Heavy Love started out at midweek #4 and it fell to #11 by Friday, so #6 doesn’t make me feel too confident about Top 10 being maintained. Let’s hope it can hold up well though, with these digital deluxe downloads! I actually prefer the artworks of these digital releases than the physicals! I’ll download them imminently. Excited to hear the scrapped 2003 tracks! Super Magic Extended is surely going to be fabulous too *.*
June 5, 20232 yr More personally signed vinyl available from Banquet after they sold out previously - https://www.banquetrecords.com/louise/great...-ssdKBAoSzixwR4

Wherever it lands though, it will be nowhere near the top 100 the following week!
June 6, 20232 yr Author Yeah, I'm not overly confident about top 10 either. Wherever it lands though, it will be nowhere near the top 100 the following week! Sad but true! I can see this one being straight out of the Top 200. I wasn't right about midweek #4 - Heavy Love started out at midweek #7! Mon 20th Jan 2020 - #7 - 4,574 Tue 21st Jan 2020 - #7 - 4,971 Wed 22nd Jan 2020 - #8 - 5,225 Thu 23rd Jan 2020 - #8 - 5,630 Fri 24th Jan 2020 - #11 - 6,017 Greatest Hits is midweek #6 on less sales though. The midweek #5 is only on 3,351, unfortunately we don't know Louise's figure. P.S. I've just downloaded the 2 digital albums
June 6, 20232 yr Doesn't look like staying top 10 is too realistic, sadly. Still, for a sort of mid-level success popstar of the 90s to be even within sniffing distance of going top 10 in 2023 is impressive in my eyes. She never had a single pass 200k back in the day did she, despite the high sales climate at the time? Yet she's still very widely loved, which is lovely to see. I've given Lil Lou quite a few plays already, that could have quite feasibly been a top 10 in 2003/4 I think, it reminds me of some of the stuff on Vanessa Amorosi's debut album, which I have always loved.
