I definitely expected a top 4 of (in alphabetical) Flying Without Wings, Hello My Love, When You're Looking Like That & World Of Our Own. But we love a good surprise in rates & it's one of the reasons I wanted to do a Westlife rate, due to not really knowing Buzzjack's tastes on their catalogue etc..
September 24, 20222 yr 'Swear It Again' a dull debut for me but I don't hate it either. #5 is a bit too high for it personally. 'Flying Without Wings' is great and deserving of being top 5 though.

September 25, 20222 yr If I Let You Go is a decent Cheiron style track. I’ll never get over it seeing off Better Off Alone to No.1 by less than 500 sales BUT it’s still one of their best for me. Flying Without Wings is probably their signature song with the general public I’d imagine, as their other biggest hits are covers. It’s very strong, was always surprised it didn’t have a better chart run at the time.

Max Martin co-penned song 'When You're Looking Like That'. This was released as the 6th (and final) single from 'Coast to Coast' in mainly Asia & Australia and wasn't given a full release in the UK/Ireland due to them "not having as much exposure [in those markets]" according to Shane himself. It's a damn shame coz this is an absolute BANGER and would have served as a fantastic change of pace for them, as well as becoming another big hit for them. In 2019, it was revealed that this is their 6th most streamed song here in the UK and 20th in their best sellers list! The verses and chorus are basically hooks rolled into one... the classic Max Martin method! This is tied for the most number of 11's in this rate. It's a bop and I'm so happy it is as well known as it is despite it's no-single status.

September 25, 20222 yr If I Let You Go finally getting the appreciation it deserves! :wub: Fantastic top two as well, World of Our Own would be a great winner too. Dark horse prediction would probably be my fave If I Let You Go, it gets a lot of hate on the forum for blocking Better Off Alone but I'm hoping that this rate will show that it is at least one of their better songs! I did predict it as dark horse but this has outperformed even my own expectation at this point, was expecting Flying Without Wings to come second :lol:

It's Westlife by numbers but it's ok. Very surprised this is as loved as it seems to be... it's not just a Buzzjack thing either by the looks of it as the video on their YT channel has 194 MILLION views (a couple of their vids have WAYYYY more than I assumed they would too!)! WHHHHAAAATTTT???? Under estimated this by quite some way lmao. It's a good, mid-tempo song, but that's quite literally it imo. This was a needed change of pace for them, because 11 singles in and just one uptempo single amongst them, which was a cover for Comic Relief, it was nice to get a single of this nature that was their own, original song. It's still very "Radio 2/Heart friendly" and was safe for radio/airplay etc.. but it's a bop and it's easy to see why it's so beloved, even by non-Westlife fans. The ones that say they don't like them usually use this song (and Flying Without Wings) as their one "apart from that one". It's a fun song and (although I'd predicted it to win) it's a deserving win!
