#2 album tracks:

The Stranglers - No More Heroes

Elvis Costello & The Attractions - Accidents Will Happen

Chic - Le Freak

Most of those Elvis Presley songs are either #1s, #2s or have already come up... I'll say Stuck On You.

from Elvis, Always on my Mind is my fav song, but no clue if it's on that album :D

Lol Bjork he linked the Elvis track list right there for us! :D Neutral on what to play for that really.

I may have to drop off before the end but something from The Carpenters would be nice - Only Yesterday maybe. Calling Occupants Of Interplanetary Craft is interesting but 7 minutes.

oops totally missed the link :D damit Always on my mind missing from that GH

ohhh love love Calling Occupants, also vote for that

my recommendations:

Queen - Bicycle Race [Jazz]

Carpenters - Calling Occupants.. [The Singles: 1974-1978]

Chic - Le Freak [C'est Chic]

Calling Occupants Of Interplanetarry Craft (The Recognised Anthem Of World Contact Day) would be good. Also something from Armed Forces, one of the Stranglers albums and Ian Dury.

My requests:

Queen - Don't Stop Me Now (Jazz)

The Carpenters - Calling Occupants Of Interplanetary Craft (Singles 74-78)

Elvis Costello - Accidents Will Happen (Armed Forces)

ELO - All Over The World (Xanadu)

If you play the ELO song, can you load the Flash Mob video for it which has 27 million views.

Thin Lizzy never had a #1 album so my nomination is Dancing in the Moonlight from Live and Dangerous please x
link? or is it always the same link?

A big improvement on last week's batch of songs for me! As well as plenty of classics there were quite a few really good discoveries for me this week - Blondie's 'Union City Blue', Gary Numan, Tubeway Army, Sky, Peter Gabriel, Deep Purple and (despite some interesting vocals) Paul McCartney standing out the most and lots more that I thought were at least pretty good as well.

Also *_* at the back to back of 'M.E.' and 'Gotta Go Home' both of which I was previously not aware / had forgotten were heavily sampled in 21st century top 10 dance hits (Basement Jaxx's 'Where's Your Head At?' and Duck Sauce's 'Barbra Streisand' respectively).

There was also a particularly rancid Rod Stewart song so it was not all good :kink: but at least we have a break from the Rod Stewart klaxon for a while now haha.

Still failing to prepare the playlists in a good amount of time but all ready for week 6 now, and frankly this week is a bit of a mess for various reasons but it's ok, we'll get through it. A good bunch more classics (including one I nearly skipped over because I assumed it was a #1 but then remembered it only made #3!), and K-Tel & co. are back with vengeance again with a new gimmick to shift their compilations. And a couple more oddities including one that, in an objective sense, truly didn't age well.

43 albums covered this week (and if the number is that low you know that means we have at least one 10+ minute prog rock song!) taking us to April 1983, and finishing on a song and album with a pretty fitting title.

Eligible #2 albums for bonus track suggestions, sorry for being so late once again:

I don't normally weigh in on these #2 album bonus songs but I am absolutely going to play the title track from 'The River'. (It is only the 2nd most streamed song on the album behind 'Hungry Heart' but it's kind of an all time fave and these picks are not strictly bound to be the most streamed on their album, just no top 2 hits)

I suspect a couple of our regulars may be wanting something from 'Prince Charming'? x

Excellent choice Bré with The River also being one of my all-time faves  (and Hungry Heart not far behind)

I'll also suggest:

Madness - Baggy Trousers [from Absolutely]

The Clash - Straight To Hell (otherwise Rock The Casbah) [from Combat Rock]

Yazoo - Don't Go [from Upstairs At Eric's]

The Jam - That's Entertainment [from Sound Affects] will get a couple more opportunities from #2 greatest hits albums in later sessions, but that deserves a spot somewhere.

Sadly missing it today as I'll be on a plane flying back from Iceland

unless there is free wifi on the plane :)

some interesting #2s, always liked Yazoo, Alison Moyet is great so voting for Don't Go from Upstairs at Erics

also had a soft spot for Phil Collins-You can't hurry love
