I seemed to have missed the beginning of the transmission but hopefully will pick up a recorded version somewhere.

Absolutely loved that AI version of Angels , it was sublime.

Also thrilled to hear him sing Bodies & Sexed Up , so right he did so , I love those songs & of course the fabulous No Regrets

He got a great response from the audience, love their participation , they really got into it

Oh... it was a very enjoyable night with Rob!!

During first 3-4 songs he had been a little bit tense. It's not so easy when you're not performing LMEY in the beginning, you know )))

But then, I think since swing part he got the audience.

What a fantastic versions of Millennium and Rock DJ there were... Eternity, TRTM, No Regrets... and Lost was great in live!

I swear much more important that Rob was enjoyed himself at some point, it looked like he liked the orchestra part so much, especially during Eternity or so.

He is a big professional and already not so easy to get something new for himself but I felt his joy during second part of the show so much!

Robbie Williams in the Elphi: With tails, gold chain and orchestra

At his concert in Hamburg's Elbphilharmonie, Robbie Williams played the hits from his 25-year solo career live with an orchestra for the first time. He also told his happy fans a lot about his life.

Robbie Williams stands on the stage of the Elbphilharmonie in the classic black tails, appropriate to the location and the orchestra. He's finally grown up, he jokes about himself - and yet he can't help but let the playful, extravagant pop star out: with a ruffled tail on his lap, red socks and, despite his 48 years, Robbie, the unobstructed view Chest hair, gold chain and tattoos. For the first time he plays his hits from 25 years of solo career live in a symphonic guise.

KI marries Robbie Williams to Beethoven

When Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata meets Robbie Williams' pop music, this experiment could have gone wrong. This melange of Robbie Williams and Beethoven is a partnership put together with the help of artificial intelligence - it could have sounded like Mario Kart, the singer jokingly says himself. Even if the result doesn't sound like music from a computer game - the fans on this evening are completely different things important.

Fans rave about the intimate atmosphere in the Elbphilharmonie

"It just had an intimate atmosphere here," enthuses a fan after the concert. Normally, Robbie Williams plays in stadiums in front of tens of thousands. "He snaps and the last row asks: How high should we jump?" says another viewer. "No one else can do that. I've never seen that in my life."

Tattoo tips from Robbie Williams

On this evening in the Elbphilharmonie, he visibly enjoys being close to his audience, gives tips on how to care for a freshly inked tattoo, talks about TV evenings at home with his wife and four children - and is happy about fan Andrea. "It was unbelievable," she says. "He looked at me the whole time on 'Lost'. Maybe because I was one of the few who sang along. I'm just happy."

100 minutes of hits with orchestra

"Lost", the singer's new single, is not that well known yet. Otherwise he only plays the hits in 100 minutes - big, opulent with an orchestra. The music suits the Elbphilharmonie, which Robbie plays very well, as if he weren't here for the first time. He dances, swings, moonwalks, sometimes in one direction, sometimes in the other. He uses the proximity to the audience, tells a lot about his life, about the backpack full of fear and anger that he, full of drugs and feeling great loneliness, has carried around with him for years.

High ticket prices

"I'm already looking forward to next year," says a spectator enthusiastically after the show - and then everyone has the chance to be there again. Well, anyone who can afford the outrageous ticket prices. But that's another story altogether .

Telekom Street Gigs with Robbie Williams

Premiere in the Hamburg Elbphilharmonie: Telekom celebrated 25 years of Robbie Williams with a large orchestra, new songs and the Beethoven AI.

Telekom brought Robbie Williams to the Hamburg Elbphilharmonie for an exclusive and unique show. The world star presented songs from his greatest hits deluxe album "XXV" for the first time together with the orchestra of the Neue Philharmonie Frankfurt.

Over 80 musicians accompanied the exceptional British artist. Grammy Award-winning conductor Steve Sidwell conducted. Not only the live performance of "XXV" with orchestra, but also the result of the century-long collaboration between Robbie Williams and the Beethoven AI, "Angels (Beethoven AI)", celebrated its live premiere.

Live premiere of "Angels (Beethoven AI)"

"Angels" is the song that catapulted Robbie Williams from former "Take That" member to solo world star in 1997. So it's no wonder that "Angels" is one of the most important titles of the British superstar's career. 25 years later, Telekom has created a special interpretation together with "Angels" co-author and producer Guy Chambers as well as composer Jules Buckley and the Beethoven AI.

The AI, which completed Beethoven's 10th symphony last year, has now taken on one of the most well-known pop songs. Guy Chambers and Jules Buckley first rearranged the song's basic structure. In close cooperation with AI project manager Matthias Röder and composer Walter Werzowa, the artificial intelligence was allowed to interweave the moonlight sonata with the intro of "Angels". For the instrumental part, the AI was freer and drew from all of Beethoven's works. The result was a work from a single source - which you could experience live for the first time in Hamburg and in the stream and can watch again soon!

The Beethoven AI

The AI was already used on behalf of Telekom to complete Beethoven's tenth unfinished symphony. Only fragments of the piece existed. On the occasion of Beethoven's 250th year, it should finally be performed as a complete symphony in 2020. The play premiered in Bonn on October 27 last year – with great success. Read here the most exciting facts about the development of AI:

Concert in the "Elphi"

Robbie Williams becomes a Hamburg understander

ngYjREP.png

Pop, pathos and chatting: Robbie Williams entertained his audience in the Elbphilharmonie with a mixture of music and stories from his life.

"When I'm here, I get this overwhelming feeling of love. I'm very grateful for that," Williams called out to around 2,100 people in Hamburg's "Elphi" during the approximately two-hour show on Tuesday evening. He feels hugged. And it was exactly this feeling that the musician, who once became famous with the group "Take That", gave back to his listeners.

Before the concert, Williams had a little time to get to know Hamburg better. Among other things, he was out and about in a harbor barge on the Elbe for a photo session and gave his interviews in the Elbphilharmonie with the best view of the harbour. He had been to the Reeperbahn before, "but I didn't really understand that this is a seafaring and industrial city that is very similar to Liverpool," said the Brit. "This time I can understand her heart and soul better. I understand Hamburg. I'm starting to make friends with the city."

Williams opens up about drug and alcohol addiction

At his concert in the "Elphi", the pop star not only took his listeners on a personal journey through his 25-year solo career with his songs, which also came from the new best-of-with-orchestra album "XXV". Between the songs he also showed his vulnerable side, talked about the ups and downs of his life, drug and alcohol addiction, fears and worries and the things that would have made him strong again.

For example, Geri Halliwell ("Spice Girls") helped him through a very difficult time around 20 years ago. He wrote the song "Eternity" for her. For his family - his wife Ayda and their four children - he sang "Love my Life" in the famous concert hall on the Elbe. She made his life complete and gave him a purpose.

Symbiosis of classic and pop

Williams' engaging nature determined the evening in such a way that the large orchestra almost receded into the background at times. Even the musician's comparatively loud band drowned out the more than 80 musicians of the New Philharmonic Frankfurt in many places. It had the greatest musical impact in the passages where drums and electric guitars had to rest.

Even before the performance, Williams had told the "dpa" that the acoustics of the Elbphilharmonie were not that important to him. "I've got my earbuds on. That's what I'm hearing." However, there was also a moment when the orchestra was still playing and Williams took off his earphones, listened to the music and commented "Wow" on it.

At the live premiere of the version of the Williams hit "Angels" rearranged by artificial intelligence, the orchestra was able to show the power it can unleash. The "Beethoven AI", which had already completed Beethoven's 10th symphony, has now also interwoven the moonlight sonata with the intro of "Angels" and also composed an instrumental middle section for which they were able to draw on all of Beethoven's works. The result, as the last of 16 songs that evening, was well worth listening to and seemed like a symbiosis of classic and pop in the "Elphi".
