10 September 1997 saw the first release of 'GBI (German Bold Italic)', a collaboration between Kylie and Japanese-American music producer Towa Tei (of 'Deee-Lite' fame). It's a left-field house-techno song that portrays Kylie as a typeface called 'German Bold Italic'. Although only a minor hit, reaching #50 in Australia and #63 in the UK (released in 1998), critics were won over and praised it for its unique position within Kylie's discography.

25 years on, what are your thoughts on 'GBI'?

Still one of my favourites, I love everything about this and I still think it sounds great today.

At the time when it charted at #63 I was horrified as it looked like such a flop on her chart history whereas now I’d welcome a single reaching that position

I have so many versions of this from various countries it was released in around the world and they are all totally different which was/is a nightmare for collectors

At the time I didn't really see it as kylie single as such but was happy it charted, but it does sound great to this day and a song that could do well if used by a current artist.
