Disappointing result for Darren Hayes.

Extremely so. The album title doesn't help - I fully support it before anyone comes for me and I totally get why he's called it that, in regard to both his personal journey and the context of the songs, but sadly it's bound to have alienated some of his fans, particularly of the older generation. But then again I think he's at the stage of his career where he'd rather be true to himself than be overly concerned about chart success. It's just a shame it's resulted in his lowest charting album by a country mile.

but he was concerned about chart success, it's not like he didn't care

he kept posting on social media about pushing to remain top 40

It’s hard to believe people could be that bothered by a title like that in this day and age, shows you people aren’t as progressive as you think but I am surprised that Darren Hayes fans aren’t.

but actually don't think the album missing the top 40 has anything to do with the title

he's also explained it a lot in his IG, it's to do with zero airplay especially on radio

he tried to push some songs to UK radio but no one did, and same with. the album was pushing it to R2 but they declined

spotify playlist support was expected, cos he's not in a big label and not sending checks

but he was counting on radio support that never arrived

so in a way, selling 1.5K is fine I'd say and probably the album title even helped

it's like all those netflix series with the lgbt tag attached, they always do better than without the tag

It also didnt help that there was delays to the album dispatch, he said on pages that Amazon and HMV wouldn't be sent until 14th so week later and the vinyl is not out til February, probably could have got top 40 if all out same time.. I know a few who didn't even know anything about him releasing new music, unless you follow his pages then you wouldn't know really
LF System's new song missed the Top 100, hopefully they won't end up a one hit wonder á la Nathan Evans. On the Sales chart, Blinding Lights records its 150th consecutive week. On the Video Streaming chart, Baby Shark returns to #1 for a 26th week and 13th different run.

Is there any particular reason Billie Eilish's 'TV' re-entered so (relatively) highly this week  I see that it did spend most of last week in the top 150 on Spotify after being absent from the top 200 for weeks before that (looks like it had a sharp increase on several countries' Spotify charts last Sunday). Also a massive climber again on Spotify today after dropping off a bit the last couple of days. Nice to see it back whatever the reason anyway! I guess assuming a TikTok trend unless anyone knows otherwise, but the usual YouTube comments / social media check doesn't seem to indicate that.

Oof at 'There'd Better Be A Mirrorball' dropping off Arctic Monkeys' 3 chart songs though.

Yass at Zach Bryan now outpeaking both Gabby Barrett and Florida Georgia Line :cheer: (I know FGL had a couple of higher charting songs as a feature, and 'Meant To Be' is arguably as much their song as Bebe Rexha's, but still).

Alvvays just barely getting a new highest charting album, 1 place higher than their last album in 2017. A #1 coming in circa 130 years then :magic:

^I was wondering the same about Billie E, and not sure if related, but she's been on the news quite a lot since last week cos again she's dating someone and is someone older etc etc someone from a rock band but cannot recall now

not sure if possible but was wondering if some silly gossip could be responsible for TV climbing...

That’s Jesse Rutherford from The Neighbourhood, although it just seems to be gossip atm.
