Anyone know his worldwide sales of TTC onwards? And wonder how many he sold of Under the Radar vol 1?

I THINK he said on chat that he signed 10,000 copies of UTR and they all went.

I could be wrong though.

1. TTC - should be >1.3M WW

2. UTR Vol.1 - due to fact there were not only 10 000 signed copies but standard CD and due to download version - I think 50.000 totally is possible

His total sales in UK [w/o UTR Vol.1 & all recent Live albums (02, TTC Live, Swings Live, Paris Live)] are 19.309.265 copies by May 6 2016.

What about Swings Both Ways BM? How did that sell in total? He was on about 850K in UK when it got to February 2014. Lost track of it then. I think he did the same numbers in Germany?

Thanks Better Man. Hasn't sold very well since released. It says on Wiki by the end of 2012 it had sold 1.2m.

It also says Swings Both Ways as of June 2014 has sold 1.6m W/W

Regarding SBW:

Are you sure about 850k in UK (by Feb 2014)?

I'm not sure and current update by OCC (via Music Week) gave us the current stats: 733,959 in UK

WW sales should be 2M, I rememer the old official stats and due to good sales tendency it should be 2M (even more).

Germany...don't know.

Yeah, unfortunately the sales of TTC wasn't so good after release period but you know, it's impossible to do better if you have only one hit single.

In a case of SBW there was better promo (in my opinion) and the whole concept of swing music worked well for Rob because on 2001's album

No I'm not sure ^_^

You know what you're talking about Alex - I'll go with you. I've probably remembered wrong. :)

what would you class as good sales for this coming album now all sales are so desperately low? What should he be "aiming for" in your opinion?

I thout of that either the last weeks and I tink sales around a million wouldbe very good as Rob cannot reley on streams, 500,000 will be likely and 1,5 m wuld be more thn great. But BM,you now best :-)....

Good question, ladies :)

Actually I almost haven't thoughts about sales this time. It's too different period is sales range even comparing to last year.

WW sales depends on his campaign. If he is going to South America and to USA (check the Sony's CEO interview) markets and will do it great it helps to the album a lot.

Agree that 1M WW sales would be fine for campaign.

UK sales...well, 250-300k by Jan-1 2017 would be fantastic for Rob, but more likely 150k is maximum.

)

Anyway we all know he needs at least one BIG single at the album. If there will be two big songs than he will take the crown and sales longevity =)

UPDATE:

I'm sure he and Sony will be aiming for Number 1 Album, that's the first priority for the campaign.

The second task is good sales and success of the first single in UK and Europe at least.

Third task is longevity (don't say about great sales).

Fourth task is success on one the new/re-new markets (in radio charts): Western Europe/Asia/USA/S.America

Fifth task is stadium tour in UK and Germany at least.

If Robbie's album will reach all of these tasks we can call this campaign as very successful.

I think that's a very important album for Robbie.

I'm sure he and Sony will make all the best for getting success. I think we will get a few interesting collaborations in near future (not at the album) for rising of his status.

I think the single could be tricky. He's going to have to pull something out of the bag to compete with the youngsters - at least in the UK. It may be easier for him in Europe.

Album wise - I think you could be right about the sales. We'll see. It is an important album for him but he seems to be taking his time, getting it right. Guy's on board who will take a lot of care over it. Robbie's enthused, Sony are excited. He looks amazing. He's put a lot of work into the album and his appearance. It all points towards creativity and success and hunger for that success.

Also I think we're in for a big tour. He's been building up that fan base for the last two years especially in eastern Europe. He's off to Georgia in two weeks - sold out by all accounts. He's going about it all the right way and I think it will reap dividends for him. :)

I think whatever happens with the album, no one can accuse him of not trying or being nonchalant about his place in music. He's fighting for his place and I like that. :cheer:
