How many copies did the top selling 2012 album sell? And what was it? Not bloomin' Emile Sande surely?
I believe it was indeed Emile Sande. Honest to God, if it's not her selling bucketloads, it's Adele. Where have all these fans of dreary music come from???? No wonder the number of anti-depressant prescriptions is rocketing

Or the new fad is 'taking a song & making it your own'... daylight robbery imo <_<

Emile sold well over a million I believe. Sales of the album would have been much higher if only she'd bothered to promote it :(

It is interesting that despite Candy being a huge seller and shifting over half a million it didn't make the top 20 best sellers of the year, yet the album was the 13th best seller of 2012 despite it's sales being disappointing. Goes to show how low albums are these days.

Yeah. It's bizarre isn't it?

Nowadays all the money is made in touring and merchandising. The actual 'records' are just a sideline as far as revenue goes.

One new fact:

Before Candy Robbie was 11th solo male artist in singles sales historical UK chart - 7.6M selling copies. George Michael was 10th and had 7.9M.

After Candy Robbie has overtaken George and has 8.2M.

Look at the common list (dated on August, 2012 excl.RW sales):

1.The Beatles

2. Elvis Presley (21.7 M)

3. Cliff Richard (21.5 M)

4. Madonna (17.8 M)

5. Michael Jackson (15.5 M)

6. Elton John (15 M)

7. Queen

8. Abba

9. Rihanna (11.4 M)

10. David Bowie (10.7 M)

11. Paul McCartney (10.3 M)

12. Kylie Minogue (10.2 M)

13. Rolling Stones (10 M)

14. Rod Stewart (9.9 M)

15. Take That

16. Stevie Wonder (9.1 M)

17. Oasis (9 млн)

18. Eminem (8.9 M)

19. Whitney Houston (8.5 M)

20. Robbie Williams (8.2 M)

21. Spice Girls (8 M)

21. George Michael (7.9 M)

Surprised Oasis are so high. Always figured they were more of an album band.

1.2M by the end of 2012 so approx 1.3M by now? And we can wait for another 300k from Tour?

In my opinion 1.6M would be good result for sales only (almost) in Europe.

If he'd made promo in OZ and Latin then TTC could catch 2.0M but not this time because of new Swing album.

A couple of more up to date estimations- IAOOC should have crossed the 700k mark last month whilst TTC passed the 500k mark! :D
