August 29Aug 29 Social media reports (cuz official press won't) that many members of Indonesian parliaments are escaping abroad, possibly Singapore.Cowards.
August 29Aug 29 Something in the water in SE Asia huh. Hope you can stay safe Cow.I say that because of Thailand's PM getting removed from power today too (seems a familar story in Asian politics, female member of prominent political dynasty gets removed from power) though in this case apparently not about corruption for once but rather that she was insufficiently hostile in a phone call to Cambodia's old dictator.
August 31Aug 31 We are currently safe at home for now, but it's quite sad the number of deaths increased to 6.There's relieving news today, however, that the problematic celebrity parliaments have been deactivated. Our palace has also received the demands from the "true protesters."Our new concern is that there are many anarchic agent provocateurs who pretended to be protesters on the road that are attempting to trigger martial law. Thankfully, we got influencers like Ferry Irwandi and the Da Lopez brothers who keep our protests organized. We genuinely wouldn't want to repeat the 1998 tragedy anymore.

September 9Sep 9 The Nepal situation is extremely horrible as 20 people were killed during the first 6 hours of the protests against the social media ban, corruption, and nepotism.
October 4Oct 4 Japan is about to have their first female prime minister (once she's confirmed in a couple of weeks) after the latest PM shuffle, Sanae Takaichi of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (right-wing conservative for those unfamiliar). She's on the LDP's right, thinks the reason the LDP has been faltering in governing and nearly losing the lower house election last year and the upper house election this year is them losing touch with their right-wing base and according to the BBC article is an admirer of Thatcher so that's... wouldn't have expected much else from Japan politics or the LDP tbf.Was hoping Junichiro Koizumi's (former popular PM who was relatively decent by LDP standards) son Shinjiro would get in over her.
Wednesday at 05:123 days Dutch elections today and it is looking to be a 5 horse race between VVD (con-liberal), D66 (social-lib), CDA (christian dems), Groenlinks-PVDA (social dem/left) and PVV (right-pop).Lettuce all pray for a D66 or CDA win, cause this country will be going to ellections next year AGAIN if the others win. They seem to be the more central parties with the most options to find actual solutions to the migration, livingcosts issues

The rest of the political spectrum needs to find ways to disarm these chancers and I think the Netherlands are possibly in one of the best positions to do it.

Had 25% of the seats, couldn't get a single promise done because they were all unconstitutional 💀 Most of PVV's votes went to other rightwing partiedCurrent standing has D66 ahead with 27 out of 150, PVV 25, VVD 23, GroenlinksPVDA 20 and CDA 19. If they are wise they'd try for a coalition of above minus PVV. There's been stable coalitions in the past with these 4, but they all need to move a bit.Not The Netherlands being the first to legalize gay marriage and only the 10th to possibly elect a gay as prime minister. Homophobes stay losing.
Thursday at 12:562 days Looks like D66 and PVV are now matched in terms of seats from latest projections, but obviously no one will work with Wilders.Plenty of decent coalitions to keep things running though.
