at the Lana forums they were making a big deal out of it, it was the biggest day ever for the song on streams

 

funny how the Halloween effect is the biggest on Amazon, Timewaro went to #1 and there were 5 Halloween songs on top 10 I believe

quite big on Spotify, and less so on Apple

Unfortunately the rise for ‘Bones’ is likely just down to Halloween, Spotify have it on their main ‘Halloween Party’ playlist!

Praying it's down again this year, it's only recently I just can't abide Christmas music at all. I think it was when we were in lockdown in 2020 when it drove me insane.

I do enjoy the annual Christmas songs but for me the whole festive period lasts for way too long. I'd be happy with hearing them from the 1st-25th Dec and no earlier than that. They should be banned until December!

Thing is we do get new Christmas music every year, the public just latches on to the "classics"

the sad thing though is that December is pretty much a write off for big artists releasing new music now cos they have all the old christmas songs to compete with in the chart as Jack was alluding to, rather than any perceived lack of new Christmas music (there seems to be a fair bit more new Xmas songs or at least new covers of old Xmas songs being put out, than there was in the download era - but the vast majority just can’t compete with the classics)

 

OT - I wonder if we can beat the Spotify thread length record this month as last November’s edition holds the record with 56 pages, something about November gets the discussion going I guess as its often one of the most popular months for this thread

30 was still doing great numbers on Spotify in its second week IIRC.
