I'm skeptical if it will be that big, whilst Forget Me was still a decent sized hit for him, it only got to #1 because of physicals iirc - or if not it was very close.

A combination of TikTok + playlisting now, clearly it’s had an impact on people too and making them want to listen more.

Actually last time Lewis would have debuted at #1 even without physicals

but his label chickened out and added them on Thu just in case

 

If they had saved them for week 2, Lewis would have a 2nd week at #1 and denied Bebe/Guetta :D

 

It was around 8,500 physicals sold, mainly CDs but also vinyl singles

I think it will probably manage one week at the top - Raye I don't think will get there until the new year I imagine, if she does at all

Yeah I don't know if RAYE will nab a week at the top officially - saying that, it could do it next week if it carries on climbing the way it has.

 

First Bebe with a Number 1 this year and now potentially RAYE too - just goes to show with the right etc anything can happen

Delicious justice for Raye. A good lesson to record labels - if you have a fantastic, creative artist on your books, don't try and box them in and stifle them, remember the potential you saw in them in the first place and let their talent and vision dictate their path. I know they have to make money and clearly are going to be more risk averse than an independent artist would, but come on, a fantastic R&B artist with great lyrical talent being constantly shunted onto generic dance records - no wonder she was fed up.

 

Obviously there's a bit of luck on Raye's side with this track too with its TikTok virality but it's about time she had some good luck, I have no doubt she would have had a big solo hit eventually, such is her passion and drive.
